So what, Mr Boden, exactly is different about the new Mini Boden range?

After promising us a complete change to Mini Boden I can't see anything differet at all about the new A and W range!

I'm really going off their OTT prints but there are a couple of plainer things I like for the dds - love the look of the easy jersey dress and they've brought back the elasticated bit on their ballet pumps.

They've copied Joules here

but a significant proportion of the colour palette and styles seem quite olde-worlde here, here, here, and here, for example.

I actually rather like more stuff than usual. Still lots of badly-appliqued images, though. I was really hoping the knitwear would include some actual knitwear, rather than the ubiquitous fleece. I loathe fleece, except for outdoors exercise-y type activities.

It's very much copying Joules, isn't it.

TyrannosaurusBex · 21/07/2012 10:42

It is very much like Joules, with the muddier colours. I don't like the grey backdrop at all, everything looks so dingy. I'm actually quite pleased, I am going to save loads of money this autumn, I usually go nuts ordering for my three girls but there isn't a single thing they like. As for the womenswear, the frump factor has been upped significantly IMO.

Customers no longer get 20% off for ordering their children's clothes in the preview.

As far as I can see that was the whole point of all this drama about the new collection. wish there was a thumbs down emoticon

I liked the boys things I found the colours more practical and will go with more. Only have boys though so didn't look at the girls.
I may be wrong but is boden cheaper than joules? I have seen some of their things in garden centres near me and it always seems quite pricey.
Off to have a look.
Think I am branching away from next as I don't like any of their a/w collection for ds1 (4), it all seems to be really 80s or cheeky chappy type slogans which I hate. It's a shame because I have bought clothes from there for the past four years for ds1 but their quality has taken a nosedive IMO :(

Some of it is copying Lands End kids too - especially the shirts and skirts (which in Lands End are usually rather more practical skorts).

It strikes me as a typical Mini-Boden range - some useful items (quite like the hotchpotch dresses as a staple) but most of it unexciting now.

I live lands end kids stuff. Although Mine too old for it. And boden. They think it's naff. Although DO like the boden dressing gowns
