Why nude underwear? and what would be best?

What would be the best colour underwear to wear under a very fine cream dress. I'm asking this as i don't own any nude colour underwear (never understood who would buy this colour!!!!) but on trying the white all in one on, you can really see it.....so what would be best? White or Nude???

Nude. It was made for clothes like that!

Nude, definitely. The idea is that it blends in with your skin. White will show through.

Thong and strapless if you can manage with a strapless. The less underwear the less you'll see.

Most nude underwear is quite plain, but just make sure you don't get any lacey ones as you'll see the pattern through your clothes.

If I wear a white bra under my cream and olive striped long sleeved top or my plain cream one, it sort of glows through and shows through. Nude doesn't.

Not only can you see it through clothes but my fake tan stains it and its not pretty after one wear

I think it depends on your skin tone... I'm ghostlike most of the year and today I'm wearing White bra under thin white shirt and it doesn't show - on the rare times of the year I'm more tanned it's more of an issue. I do have some nude underwear but sometimes find it's too dark when I try stuff on in the shops and shows through.
So I guess what I'm saying is go with something as close to your skin tone.

I'm ghostly too, I find a pale pink usually works best for me
