Can anyone recommend a serum to use under moisturiser

I am 42 so I'm looking for something to hydrate & help with fine lines. I have normal/combination skin. I was looking at Loreal Lumosity but I don't have dark spots ont skin.
I don't mind trying anything cheap or expensive.

Lancôme youth activating serum. It bring your complexion to life. It is quite expensive. Use sparingly. I use it at nights but not every night because of the cost.
