Can anyone reccommend me a new top coat?

I like which quick drys, the cheaper the better.
I've used seche vite and it gets gloopy too quick and is very spensive.
Any ones that are just as good but cheaper?

Have you tried Gel polish?
SensatioNail top coat cures in 30 seconds and then is totally dry.

Tis not cheap but works really well.

Jessica Brilliant is good too.

For cheapness Collection 2000 dries quite fast

Airshield. (From Ebay or Amazon). Dries very fast, very shiny, really lasts ages (ie, the fortnight, no chips or wear on leading edge). Much easier to apply than Seche. I use it every fortnight and the bottle lasts ages and ages.

MsOnatopp · 19/07/2012 16:19

Rimmel Pro Super Wear or something or other works well IMO, especially after a few uses when it has ever so slightly thickened. Dries very fast.

Trills · 19/07/2012 16:22

How can Airshield be easier to apply than Seche Vite?

Do I have a fake bottle or something? My Seche Vite (from Amazon) is exactly as easy to apply as nail varnish. No more difficult, no easier.

MsOnatopp · 19/07/2012 16:24

Ooo yeah I have heard many a good thing about Seche Vite and am intending to try them next time I can justify it.

Housewifefromheaven · 19/07/2012 16:25

trills that was what I was thinking. It couldn't be any easier to apply! I buy mine from qvc, triple pack so is cheaper.

Trills · 19/07/2012 16:27

The best thing I have found for non-chipping nails is to have short nails.

I have just cut my nails off. They were a pale pinky colour and reasonably long. Now they end before the ends of my fingers and are denim blue (special edition Nails Inc, free in Boots when you buy 2 Diet Cokes, from over a year ago).

Housewifefromheaven · 19/07/2012 16:30

I can't remember where I heard it but if you put a couple of drops of seche restore when it goes a bit thick it goes runny again :o

Of course it is more outlay, but IMO there is no comparison. Being able to pop a can of coke ten minutes after painting your nails is great

ClaudiaCutie · 19/07/2012 16:31

Sorry my comment re application was ambiguous. Seche is meant to be applied when the colour coat is still a bit wet. It's not intended for use on bone dry nails. So it can be a limiting factor. Also some people find it 'shrinks' or 'wrinkles' the colour coat. That would bug me, as is the limitation of needing to be put on a wet colour coat. But really, if people are happy with it though, fine shrugs

MsOliveOyl · 19/07/2012 16:32

Nails Inc Albert Bridge topcoat is as quick drying, shiny and easy to apply (as in it's self-levelling, goes on really smoothly) as Seche but doesn't go gloopy half way down the bottle. Their Kensington Caviar topcoat is also as good, but pink toned and I notice the pink tone when I'm wearing a pale colour on my nails.

:o because nothing says 'I need diet coke' like denim blue nails :o :o

Chocchip88 · 19/07/2012 16:37

I love Seche Vite but only ever get to use half a bottle because it goes so gloopy. They should make it in smaller bottles!
I have recently been using 45 second topcoat by Save the Nail. It's the same company that make Nails Inc, it's not quite as quick drying as Seche Vite but it's the best I've found. Oh, and you get to use a full bottle!

MsOnatopp · 19/07/2012 16:38

Shock You can bold a whole sentence by asterisking just the outer words?!?! Argh, how is it I have only just found this out... I have sat painstakingly highlighting each word before... thick

MsOliveOyl · 19/07/2012 16:41

MsOnatopp that IS very weird.

But seriously, my nails are never without colour, and it lasts a week with only minor tip wear when I use Nails Inc topcoats. It perplexes me why anyone would bother with Seche when it dries out so fast, but maybe the Nails Inc just works really well with my nails.

MsOliveOyl · 19/07/2012 16:42

I mean the diet coke thing is weird, not your inability to bold words!!

Trills · 19/07/2012 17:12

There were 3 different colours, a greyish pink, a darker pink, and a denim blue. I like free stuff even more than I like diet coke.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/07/2012 18:06

You should always keep varnishes in the fridge so the solvent doesnt evaporate.

I get seche vite off ebay.

MsOnatopp · 19/07/2012 18:19

Agree with Fluffly. I have two shelves in the fridge full of nail varnish..
