I need a dress for a wedding - please help me be a bit adventurous!

I am going to wedding in Italy at the beginning of September and I have nothing to wear.

I have recently lost a fair amount of weight and I would love to wear something a bit more adventurous rather than just trying to blend into the background.

Am a size 16, 5'2", big boobs, good pins so can do just above the knee but no shorter because I have toddlers and will be bending.

My usual haunts would be John Lewis, Phase Eight but nothing is leaping out at me from there and I would like to try something different.

Warehouse has some lovely ones in the sale. Bright colours, sequins...
Have a look at the ones with 4*+ ratings & check out the comments. I always like it when the reviews say "flattering" Wink

Good luck & well done on losing the weight.

I love those vintagey ones procrastination linked too.

They would be great for Italian wedding- glam but summery. With some red lipstick even better Smile

Ooh there are some lovely ones there, I really like that vintage print.

mampam - that first one is nice, but I can't wear a high neck like that with short sleeves, makes my boobs look ginormous!

In a rush now but I will come back and look more later - thank you! :)

I think this is very flattering

and also this blue dress

or possibly this with a shrug and some heels

smarmyarmy · 19/07/2012 11:44

You'd surely stand out in this dress

and equally in this red number

Actually quite a few nice dresses on Pepperberry for us well-endowed ladies!

smarmy those are lovely, but a bit bridesmaidish. I've been a bridesmaid twice in the last year! Grin

I have just ordered that vintage print - what a bargin as well! Had to restrain myself from ordering various other things from that site too!

I have a really nice red vintage bag which I can use with it, and either red or black heels depending on my mood.

Thanks so much everyone, this thread has given me some good ideas for other occasions as well :)
