Where is best for really cheap jeans?

Just had DS last week and. I need to buy some cheap jeans to tide me over til I can get back into my usual ones. Can anyone recommend where is best? Is it worth braving Primark?! New Look only seemed to have skinnies and boot cut, both of which looked awful on my post preg bod.

I really don't want to spend much more than a tenner as obviously the weight will fall off in a matter of weeks Hmm

I have had jeans from Primark before- and they were okay ish.

They are long of leg (good for me) and seem to have quite a lot of lycra in so fit well, but go a bit baggy quickly.

For the cash though - and short term they should be fine.

Primark skinnies are pretty good for the money, could you lurk under a smock/tunic top until you feel trimmer...(thats what I used to do)?

NellyBluth · 16/07/2012 20:32

Dorothy Perkins have a big range of jeans in at the moment for about £15, if that is the right price - they are alright actually, I was only looking for skinnies but I think I remember some other styles. They also have the lycra problem, but they last me a good 6 months and I wear them 3-4 times a week.

Asda, their jeans are excellent, £10-14 is the average.

Congratulations by the way !

The next sale? They seem to be the only place I could find boyfriend style jeans for mooching around in.

FartBlossom · 16/07/2012 20:50

I tend to get my jeans from Next. I usually pay about £15/£20 for them. My other pair are from Asda at about £15. I never pay over £20 for a pair as Im a cheapskate

Angelyaz · 16/07/2012 20:55

I swear by the Matalan £10 ones...

RecursiveMoon · 16/07/2012 20:58

eBay? I think I'm going to practically give away the few pairs that I have listed.

RightUpMyRue · 16/07/2012 21:00

My mum bought a pair of Asda smartprice jeans for about a fiver a few years ago. She thought they were brill, lightweight and a good fit.

She is turning 70 in 2 weeks though so you may not want to style yourself on her.

I love the primark £9 jeans, I also just got some from Very's (the catalogue shop) eBay shop and they were b.i.n at £7 with free P&P. I never pay more than £20 for jeans as I'm a tight arse!

Thanks for all your suggestions, and the winner is... George £14 jeans. Pretty good fit and will do me for a couple of months!

Are the George jeans any good for curvy girls? I need some cheap jeans but am something like 10 waist 14 hips so always have the enormous gappy waist that I hate

wasabipeanut · 17/07/2012 21:06

I've got a couple of decent pairs from Sainsburys for post pregnancy (hopefully) temporary reasons. They are actually one of the few places I can find straight cut rather than f**king boot cut which make me look really frumpy. I like skinny best but that's pushing it a bit at the moment. :(

£14 I think.
