I've been sale shopping and I'm SOOOOO happy

I live in a forrin land where it's hot all year and I need lots of summer clothes but the the shopping is expensive and utterly pants. unless you live in Gucci, Prada or an abaya which I do not. I've been wet-dreaming for 10 months of coming home for summer and hitting the sales, and boy have I hit the sales.

Disclaimer: before you judge just remember I am very old (46) an hourglass shape, a bit too short, a bit too fat, and with legs that should not be shown above the knee in public.

and again because it's so useful it's worth buying in both colours
and a skirt version in coral it looks crap in that picture but it is perfect summer wear with a t-shirt and flip flops.
Are you sensing a theme here? I know what suits me and I stick to it. Grin

haters of White Stuff/Boden et al look away now but these things are so comfy and useful and easy and they suit me
and again in another colour Blush

And there was another dress from M&S that is so delicious I could eat myself in it and it only cost TWENTY ONE OF YOUR ENGLISH POUNDS but it's not on the website so I can't show you. Sad

And there was more - a couple of useful casual skirts and cardigans, and a gorgeous wafty kaftan/maxi dress from Episode that helps me channel my inner Margot, but I can't find them to show you.

And five, yes FIVE pairs of shoes at an average price of about £25, all half price. Grin
Two pairs of groovy, chunky, platform suede wedges in turquoise and royal blue, some classy, white strappy sandals with stacked high heels, coral strappy flats, and gold beaded strappy flats. And they go with almost everything I've bought.

Happy Happy me. I'm so happy I could burst.

Like the gold dress v much, nice length

cybbo · 12/07/2012 21:53

But whoever styled it with those black patent shoes wants stringing up

Yama · 12/07/2012 21:53

The Hobbs dress is beautiful. As is the M&S linen dress.

Don't like the Per Una gold one.

Monsoon - lovely, especially in 'Sea Foam'. Not so keen on the skirt.

Can't decide on the Mantaray one. Think I like the lighter one.

Can't believe you managed to buy so much stuff. You didn't buy this all in one day did you? Well done, I'm impressed.

FellatioNelson · 12/07/2012 22:07

It took me two or three days of going back and forth, making a few mistakes, needing to see everything together, and taking some stuff back. The gold dress actually looks better on me in RL than it does on the moggle. Grin

Fellatio - gold dress lovely please tell me you don't have those shoes Wink
I love the Monsoon dresses

Glad you got so much stuff. Now can we tempt you with Great Plains?
Next sale starts on the weekend ....

FellatioNelson · 12/07/2012 22:16

I bought a Great Plains dress in the sale last year for twenty quid - it is fab, a charcoal jersey wrap/shift type thing - tres elegant and understated/useful, but I put some weight back on and I haven't worn it since and it is a bit hot for where I live now. Sad

FellatioNelson · 12/07/2012 22:18

Grin online shopping has killed the thrill of a big spree hasn't it. Bet you keep peeping at it all

FellatioNelson · 12/07/2012 22:26

When I was in my early twenties Next was fab - I don't know what happened. I'm not sure it it changed, or if I did. Confused

OP posts:
FellatioNelson · 12/07/2012 22:29

I paid full price for that M&S balck linen dress and if I hadn't started this thread I would not have realised it's down to £20! It's going straight back for a refund tomorrow and then I'll re-buy it.

OP posts:
SharonGless · 12/07/2012 22:33

See thats saved you another fifteen quid.
What are you going to buy with that money?

I am only 6yrs younger than you and Next were fab 20 years ago. Shite now generally although ok for DC basics

Is that it or have you got your eye on anything else?

SharonGless · 12/07/2012 22:35

Got my eye on this dress - only if in sale www.next.co.uk/summer/x492038s3
