that annoying gap between top of boot and hemline

When you wear dresses all year round because you're too flabby to wear jeans how do you make them work footwear-wise? I love knee-high boots in winter, but then you get a little section of leg exposed, which breaks up the line of the leg and is visually annoying (to me, anyway) But then if you put a day dress with heels it makes it too dressy/impractical for SAHM tasks. Ballerinas with a dress make me look dumpy, converse make the dress seem like a waste brogues make me look like a lesbian... What's the stylish solution? I do a lot of buggy-pushing, but I want to look glam rather than urban - if that makes sense. I'm 33 and whilst I think others look great dressed casually, it just doesn't float my boat. What would my icon Joan Collins do I wonder... Please help if you can - I'm stuck!

I wear leggings with mine.

YY - leggings or opaque tights or even skinny jeans. With flat boots.

I like that little section of leg - I think otherwise the boots make my legs look fatter than they are!

If your boot fits around yr leg snugly, it's not a problem IMO. Or wear with thick tights that match the boots

Bare legs. I just make sure they are always moisturised.

Thanks girls. I mean what shoes should I wear though. After 2 back to back pregnancies I just can't bear to wear leggings any more. I'd have bare legs in summer and black opaques in winter. Too fat for skinny jeas and they'd make me feel like I was wearing a tunic rather than a dress IYSWIM? Shoeboots? Ankle boots? thigh boots!?

I wear calf or knee high boots. I like boots though. :o

I bought these in the sale and they are very comfy - they are the first non-flat shoes I have worn for about 2 years (pregnancy then maternity leave).

I've just found the perfect winter solution (I think) Carvela 'Alana' shoeboot. Sorry can't do linky thing. Are thigh boots too panto/prostitute? ceeveebee those sandals are cute
