We've had mum boots, mum hair etc - have they been reading MN?

They just look like black pants to me. Most of the mums I see at the school gates are in skinnies and a breton stipe top, that is the mum uniform around here.

workshy · 12/07/2012 00:11

they are maternity trousers

at least they don't say they are for mummy tummies Grin

Mum Trousers? Confused

Cloudbase · 12/07/2012 00:21

Oh. I see.

So - their largest size maternity trousers (L) have a 29.5 inch waist................

Oh Let Joy be Unconfined........ Hmm

Confused How weird? Wonder what makes them Mum trousers? Perhaps they are scotchguarded to repel stains and the pockets have a built in section to store wipes, nappies etc? And maybe if you press the button above the zip, you can choose from a selection of usefull instructions ie "PUT THAT DOWN", "GO AND BRUSH YOUR TEETH", "NO YOU CAN'T HAVE ANOTHER BISCUIT", "GO TO SLEEP ALREADY".

I agree, they look like maternity trousers (who thought up that name?) but the band seems very fitted.... hmmmm

PurplePidjin · 12/07/2012 11:07

It said Zara Nederlands when I clicked, is it a language thing?

whackamole · 12/07/2012 11:19

They are awfully skinny for maternity trousers! Plus, who would actually buy them with the baggy knees already in them?

Cloudbase · 12/07/2012 12:48

I believe the baggy knees are all the rage , and indeed, very with it, as my Mum would say...

PurplePidjin · 12/07/2012 13:01

Maybe the skinniness is because they have a dual purpose - as support tights for varicose veins?

Cloudbase · 12/07/2012 19:50

Ooh! Good thinking Pidgin!

I saw them tonight, and thought they were maternity trousers. Are they not? I thought they looked nice except for the silly jersey band that made me presume they were maternity trousers.

I tried on a pair of trousers with zips while I was there. I' having a feeling fat day to took a 16 into the changing room. I'm usually a 12, and a pear, so occasionally I need a 14 bottoms. SWEET DIVINE! They were like tights! Awful awful size. I wanted to cut them off me. Zara sizes are nuts. I also own a jacket in S. How crazy.
