Would you risk highlights at a random salon because its cheap?

My salon charges £48 for a cut and blow dry.
Just over £100 for the above plus highlights.

Have just seen a deal of £29 for half head of highlights, cut and blow dry at a random salon in another part of the city.

How bad could it be?
I wouldnt let them cut it obviously, just a trim.
But do you think i'd be safe with the highlights?

I think so. Especially if you know what sort of colour highlights you like.

What city are you in?

mosschops30 · 11/07/2012 18:46

Im in Cardiff

I always have 2 blonde bleached to 1 caramel. But am so scared of it looking a complete mess or stripey Shock

Id do it, but then again Im a cheapskate and would never pay over £100 just to get may hair done (though your hair probably looks much better than mine Grin )

LexieSinclair · 11/07/2012 18:50

Do it. It's probably just an offer to get new clients in. But specify that you want them fine and not chunky, so you don't end up with stripes.

I wouldn't, I'm quite particular about my colour, I like my stylist to know me and what I like, that's built up over lots of appointments. And I don't like bleach, just Aveda High-Lift colours.

I would go and have a look - and go in and ask who does the colour, experience etc. then you can say you want to book or you will think about it and call. Good luck!

aroomofherown · 11/07/2012 19:36

I did recently, it was £60 for a full head. They look fab!

aroomofherown · 11/07/2012 19:36

Blush well if I say so myself.

mirpuppet · 11/07/2012 19:38

No. Dye can really dry out your hair and if they do it wrong a pain to grow it out or redye. I would stick to tried and tested unless you are unhappy.

and then I would get recommendations for a new place.
