sheer black lace - hear me out!

I have a sheer black lace dress long sleeved high neck what can i put under it to make it wearable? See Glamour page 67 for the idea Or am i mental even considering this at my age 41 :-) i am trim but curvy.
Am currently out of action with a bad back hence probably nutso ideas (boored)

Black or nude slip? I have a couple from M&S that are that slinky fabric, with no lace etc...
