I was browsing on the John Lewis website to see what's new in for A and W and came across this:

www.johnlewis.com/336928/Product.aspx

I really like it but Shock at the price.

If you bought it early, it'd be a good piece to see you through Sept, Oct, Nov, and then probably Feb - April, making it good value for money.

I'm not sure it's a classic, but there are always versions of this every year, so it has longevity. A normal high street version would cost £200 surely? So in that context it seems ok to me.

Or in the UK maybe it's wear now?! I see this kind of jacket worn well with linen and cool jersey, shorts etc. There were loads of high street similar ones in Lovebox for example. But I live in a fairly warm climate - so I'd pass out in it at the moment... Grin

I like the brown aviator version too!

I'm not keen it looks a bit TOWIE. I'd go for a leather one from All Saints.

FamiliesShareGerms · 11/07/2012 06:51

Not personally a fan of shearling, so agree it's over priced

Dancergirl · 11/07/2012 13:24

I've never heard of All Saints before. Not keen on leather but I do like suede.

It does look a bit TOWIE and I know nothing about fashion! Grin

Dancergirl · 11/07/2012 14:51

Really, I've never watched TOWIE before!

What sort of thing should I go for then in a classic jacket? Not keen on leather.

Depends what look you are after. Blazers are looking good atm. but won't see you through winter. Personally I prefer a coat in winter...I'm looking for a heavy military style coat, already have a very practical and dull waterproof down filled coat for any extreme weather conditions.

Dancergirl · 11/07/2012 18:41

Hmmm, I think I want a mid-weight jacket that has a bit of warmth but I do have a warm coat for v cold days. Sort of biker style, edgy, but I really don't like that side-zip affair. Any suggestions where I can look?

It's all a bit Nancy Dell'Olio

Dancergirl · 11/07/2012 20:47

Ok, I'm not too familiar with Nancy's wardrobe or TOWIE! So please can someone suggest a (stylish) alternative! Smile

I have never seen anyone in Towie wear a jacket like that!!

Not keen, how about

this

Sherling is really heavy and will not look right except in very cold weather.
