Tops to wear with a suit

I go back to work at the end of August. I will be a trainee solicitor and need to be smart - occasionally formal smart, but sometimes just ordinary office-smart (I hope you know what I mean).

I have suits. I have a few formal shirts to wear with them. I have a couple of less formal 'smart' tops as well, but not many. I would like more, but can't seem to find the right thing anywhere! I really want something in this kind of style and shape (patterned or plain) and have been holding out for the Boden sale in the hope of getting some, but alas, there are none left.....

Any ideas where I can find something similar? I had a good rummage around the high street sales this morning but didn't find anything that was right.

My budget isn't huge, but equally I don't want to buy tat (NO polyester! Fabric snob.... ). And I can't be doing with anything that isn't machine washable.

Grateful for any ideas!
