Style me - desperate - board meeting with film making trendy types

I need your help dear fashionable MN'ers.

I've recently got a freelance admin job working from home for a film / video company. All going well but I've been invited to a board meeting to get to know the crew and acquaint myself more with the meat of the business.

I'm nearly 50, which is old enough to be their mother. I know the auto cue girl, lighting, and video technicians are that young. It's not a power dressing secretary type board meeting, which I wouldnt find a problem. I'm sure they'll be trendy casual types and I'm wondering what to wear bearing in mind I'm no spring chicken. I'm feeling frumpy, size 16 and only 5ft 2. Bought a top in M&S (not per un) last week, liked it and then fretted that I'm ageing fast !

So any ideas? Not upmarket - budget high street would probably do, but don't want too look mutton dressed as lamb.

Warehouse have gorgeous silk tops in their sale, reduced to around twenty pounds. Would one of those with black skinnies and a blazer work? Or with a black mini and opaques if your legs are good? Or a plain black dress with standout shoes and a really striking necklace or bracelet?

I like H&M for clothes that are fashionable but not too young (or old Grin). I'm 40 & have recently tried to stop dressing in the same old 'mum' wardrobe that I've been in since having DS.

An example of H&M that I think would look fine on someone 'my age' is this blouse

These trousers look a real bargain (although not sure what they mean by 'low crotch' (!) could be the reason for being in the sale).

Think that would look good with some strappy sandals & chunky/unusual jewellery.

Remus x-posted, wow, have just checked & they look fab, will be trying to get to Warehouse asap Grin

(not that I need a beautiful silk top, hardly ever go anywhere Sad but can buy one for when I will Grin)

Sparky - I have decided that life is too short to save beautiful silk tops for best. If I feel like wearing one, I will - even if it's just to work or to go for a coffee. :)
