I'm on a VLCD and lost a stone and a half, going from a 16-18 to a 14ish... I've got an informal thing in about 4 weeks time when i will be another stone down, so hopefully a 12-14,

its my sisters birthday and we are going for something to eat, a few drinks and bowling(!!)

Its the first time I'm going to 'hang out' with their new boyfriends too and I'm the eldest although 'only' 28 ... and don't want to look like a fuddy duddy OR like I've tried too hard

I haven't bought clothes for years and have only just dumped the maternity pants even though my youngest is one Blush

Please help!!!

I'm 5ft4, dark hair and eyes (hairs got reddish tint at mo) ample bosom that im not keen on showing off and an impressive mummy tummy still haning about :(

If you have slim hips then some nice trousers and a loose top to hide the tum and drape over the boobs?

I found that when I lost my 2st of baby weight I was a different shape. I went from being pear shaped to having much slimmer hips and a bigger top.

Don't do what I did for the first year and try to wear a smaller size of the same shaped clothes I'd worn all my life. I had to have a good 'try on' session accompanied by a very honest friend to see what suited my new shape.

I most definatly do NOT have slim hips :(

my over hang is massive and is all around to my hips :( thats where most of my weight is,

Well done on your weight loss. I have followed a vlcd before and know how hard it is to remain focused and positive!

My "go to" outfit when I want to look chic without trying to hard is:-

Pair of long nice fitted dark jean - time to treat yourself to a really nice new pair unless you are intending to loose more weight

A lightweight blouse that is a bit billowy and will hide any muffin top

blazer in a colour that suits your skin tone.

Add some accessories, maybe a nice long necklace, some dangly earings or a statement ring

And don't forget the killer heals to add height and lengthen your legs

I am a pear shape and I like Gap long and lean jeans by the way. When I've lost some weight I'm also going to try out the Levi ID jeans that everyone is raving about.

BabiesBlueEyes · 06/07/2012 18:28

I'm really scared of jeans and trousers, I've worn leggings for so long Blush

I wouldn't even know what size I am, I suppose when I get to my goal weight i'll have to go and try some on!

You will not look cool / hip / trendy / chic in leggings! Sorry

No idea what you should wear, but what is VLCD ? Well done on your weight loss OP.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 06/07/2012 21:09

OP if you are a 14 now, then you really aren't that big. Go and buy some shaping knickers, and then go and try a load of different things on.

BabiesBlueEyes · 06/07/2012 21:10

VLCD- very low calorie diet

This? www.bohemiadesign.co.uk/odd-molly-riseabove-solid-tunic-101-vintage-dark-grey-p5712

It's very flattering and can be used for many occasions. Also, if you are going bowling I would definitely go for something long rather than jeans and a short top...

And well done on the weight loss!
