What colour shoes with navy trousers

I live in skinny navy trousers at the moment, and wear them with greyish ballet flats, but want to keep wearing them in the winter, probably with ankle boots. Would black look silly? Is a tan colour better? I really like the Ash Jalouse boots, but can only find them in black.

I wear black and navy, but I do think tan looks much better.....a nice tan riding boot was my holy grail last winter. Found a pair in Italy, that's not helpful I know, but depending on your budget Ralph Lauren always do a gorgeous boot and Dune & Hobbs usually come up trumps too x

Just read you like ankle boots.....damn! I do not recall RL doing them in ankle but Dune definitely did.....eyes peeled for autumn collection!

Tan definitely looks best with navy.
