how do you get your curls to stay in?

Have recently discovered how to loosely curl my hair using straighteners. It looks great for about half an hour, then flops to straight again. My hair is fine and thin, so thought it would stay curled, but no. Any suggestions for products/other ways of doing this most appreciated. Thanks.

Lots of hairspray before you curl it always holds it in place really well IME

Loreal tech ni art constructor spray before curling then a shed load of loreal Infinium hairspray after curling, always works for me now and trust me tried every product combination going!
