spas in london that are actually nice?

Dear mners,
does anyone have any recommendations for a spa day in London? My best mate wants to take me for a pampering treat - 1st outing since gave birth to ds (4 mo). We've been looking online at lastminute.com but there seem to be loads of 'spas' that are just some rooms off a hotel or gym. Also we went to The Sanctuary a few years ago as a treat and there was loads of black mould everywhere in the pool which was a bit yuk. Find online reviews a bit skewed in general so i thought I'd ask here if people can recommend a genuinely nice place that's not megabucks. Thanks!

Elemis is nice. But it is just a treatment spa - no pool etc. I think I got a deal for there once on Lastminute too.

the sanctuary

My friends and I had a lovely spa day at the St James hotel (I think its a Sofitel) but is £££

If jut going for a treatment, Elemis is nice - though go during the day and not at lunchtime as can be rather noisy outside (bar sounds from street)

Dorchester Spa is lovely but also £££

If you are just doing a treatment Bliss on Sloane Ave is lovely. If you are after somewhere with a pool for a bit more of a day you could try Ajala spa's. All in hotels but with pools, steam rooms etc. I've been to the one in The Grange St.Pauls and it had a lovely atmosphere and my treatment was fab.

Thanks for your recommends - will check them all out. Cheers!

St pancras, atheneum and chuan at the Langham are also really nice. Esp st pancras, underground, very cosy and very beautiful.

The Espa spa here is absolutely fantastic, not the cheapest but not really that much more than most central London places and in my opinion well worth it!

The spa at the mandarin oriental in Knightsbridge is amazing. Had a wonderful spa day there.

Also hear good things about the spa at the corinthia too, am going in august. Elemis have lovely treatments but it's not a good place to hang out for a spa day type thing. Hated the sanctuary too!

The sanctuary is cack! I wouldn't go back, most of the people in the changing room were muttering similar things about it

Depending what side of London you are, Rowhill Grange is lovely (even if part of a hotel).
