I always fancied a pair but thought they were too £££ however I just saw these for less than £80! I plan on, mainly, wearing them at home to keep my feet warm is it not the done thing anymore? They are definitely genuine is it worth the splurge?

If I should are they true to size or should I go up a size?

They came up as £200 when I looked? If you want them get them, ignore what anyone else says they are soooo comfy. I think people normally go a size up

Have a look at Jumbuck boots on Amazon first, especially if it's just for comfy boots and not fashion. Real sheepskin, proper soles and heels so they don't slop about all over the place and less than £20 if they have your size. What's not to love Grin?

faustina · 28/06/2012 07:20

oh - I was going to say they were true to size! Anyway - I would also say to ignore "the done thing". I've tried other brands of (proper, not fake) sheepskin boots, and I've never found any that come close to the quality of uggs. (as in Ugg Australia). Where have you seen them for eighty quid?

popsypie · 28/06/2012 07:22

I am a size seven and my uggs are a size 5. I just walked out of the bigger ones. Can you buy a variety of sizes and return. I love mine Grin

They have an offer on groupon (am in Oz) at the moment, buying direct from Ugg. I don't think they'll refund/ exchange though, may go for a mooch to the shops tomorrow to try some on.

I was looking at buying some Uggs for DD. Loads of mumsnetters told me to look at Celtic Sheepskin instead. Celtic Sheepskin are the original Ugg boots - they sold the brand name to the Australian Company who now make all Ugg boots in China.

Celtic Sheepskin still make their boots in Cornwall, so you are supporting the British economy. They are also cheaper, better quality, machine washable and when they start to look tired, you can send them back to the factory and have them resoled and fixed up for £37.

The website is www.celtic-sheepskin.co.uk

If you're in Cornwall you can visit their factory shop for some real bargains. I bought DD some slippers, boots and a handbag when we visited.

Sorry OP - just noticed you're in Oz.

I have 2 pairs of uggs and I love them! I wear them most days until the weathes gets too warm. But I also have 2 pairs of ugg flip flops so I'm pretty much covered for the whole year Grin
DH has a pair of the mens leather boots and the flipflops too, and he loves them!
We have also been after some sheepskin slippers but cannot justify £80 a pair! Shock
I am a size 5 and both of my pairs are UK 5.5
Worldgonecrazy that is really interesting about celtic sheepskin - I haven't heard about them but definitely will check out their range, there are some really nice items on there, and really cheap too compared to Ugg!

hmm wonder if I can persuade DH to take me for an impromptu trip to cornwall to visit the factory?! Grin
