Where to find quirky/cool "flower girl" dresses for my 2 small DDs?

TheBeanAndTheBee · 27/06/2012 19:34

Myself and DP are getting married soon and our 2DDs will be our flower girls/bridesmaids, they will be 18 months and 2.7.

The bridesmaid dresses I have looked at are a bit too "much", so I'm after lovely matching summer dresses for them that feel special occasion, but not too frou frou. Colourwise I'm thinking dusky pink or grey. Patterns also good to hide the stains.

They normally get dressed in cheapy high street stuff, so I'm really not that au fait with all the lovely brands/online boutiques that I'm sure are out there. I've already checked out the high street brands and not found anything. Am happy to spend up to 100 for each dress.

Any recommends of brands/shops please?

What about

this for your older dd and

this for the wee one?

There are loads more on that (gorgeous) site!

fedupworking · 27/06/2012 20:10

Ebay from America, just had a wedding in the family and everyone commented on my 4yr olds dress cost less than £20

TheBeanAndTheBee · 27/06/2012 20:33

Have you looked at flower girl dresses on the Monsoon website? Some nice things there.

Congratulations!

FauxFox · 27/06/2012 20:42

spotty
pink ruffled
birdcage print
butterflies

HandMadeTail · 27/06/2012 20:43

Try ilovegorgeous

They do have bridesmaid dresses, but some of the others are just as pretty, and a lot cooler.

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 27/06/2012 20:44

not on the highstreet and tulip and nettle are worth a good look. Love the ILoveGorgous dresses too, beautiful as usual.

HandMadeTail · 27/06/2012 20:44

Ha! BunnyLebowski got there first!

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 27/06/2012 20:47

adore this one

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 27/06/2012 20:53

ooh and a 'baby' version too

this is my favourite I think

SoleSource · 27/06/2012 20:58

Procrastination you have beautiful taste in children's clothing :)

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 27/06/2012 21:02

oh, forgot to link to the sundress in that pink circus fabric. Wouldn't take a petticoat like the version with the yellow sash though

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 27/06/2012 21:03

oh, you're very kind sole Smile

TheBeanAndTheBee · 27/06/2012 21:14

Oh flippin 'eck just wrote a long reply and then the site went down.

Some lovely lovely options there thank you. Am definitely going to get a couple of options from ilovegorgeous, their London store is not far from me either, result!

Have also slightly fallen in love with the floral headband-y things they have, wondering if there is any way I can get my two to wear them for longer than two seconds.......

Any other online boutiques I should check? this is almost as much fun as shopping for my dress

GiveRajAlcoholPlease · 27/06/2012 21:19

GiveRajAlcoholPlease · 27/06/2012 21:23

Watching

TheBeanAndTheBee · 06/07/2012 14:17

Oh dammit the (lovely) dresses I ordered from ilovegorgeous don't work with my dress so I'm going to have to return them. Desperate plea for any other suggestions?!!! It's sale time so am struggling a bit with size availability.....

What about this?

Or have you tried tk maxx? They had some lovely dresses in the other day.

gallicgirl · 06/07/2012 15:12

On my phone so can't link, but try Poppy dresses. They print their own fabric of Poppy and her dog Fred at the seaside and the dresses come with a story book. Beautiful vintage style frocks and lovely faded pastel colours.

thisthreadwilloutme · 06/07/2012 15:17

Or this?

thisthreadwilloutme · 06/07/2012 15:54

Right last one now - it's different but I love this

TheBeanAndTheBee · 06/07/2012 16:13

Thanks so much for those suggestions, have already trawled monsoon but wasn't familiar with the other 2 sites, will have a good look at them now!
