Oh wise ones, please help me!

My wedding is in less than 6 weeks and I simply can't find shoes I like.

This is the dress. What do I need to buy?

Something strappy as opposed to a closed shoe, perhaps a silver/metalic type? Height depends on dress length/groom height.. Definitely sparkly! Grin

Gorgeous dress! Champagne or lemonade budget?

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 25/06/2012 21:53

Preferably lemonade, but I'd go champagne if they were gorgeous and likely to be worn again.

Beautiful!

What don't you like, shoe wise?

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 25/06/2012 21:56

x post. I don't like anything tooooo high or 'hard' iyswim. I'd prefer soft materials rather than patent or anything too stiff.

And what have you discounted already? Need more info!

Charliefox · 25/06/2012 22:00

Am pitching in with these, simply to get the ball rolling. Critique please shop.nordstrom.com/s/nina-culver-dorsay-pump/3348802?origin=category&cm_ven=Linkshare&cm_cat=partner&cm_pla=10&cm_ite=1&siteId=J84DHJLQkR4-PSNlk2v08IrS7fm_V1cnkA

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 25/06/2012 22:05

Haha, sorry.

Right. I'd originally bought these as I love them and they match the rest of the colour scheme, but they were too dark and pulled all the attention to my feet.

I trawled the shops for paler blue shoes over the weekend (quite like the idea of a tiny bit of colour) but found nothing and was told by a snooty shop assistant that pale blue was 'out' and that I'd only find primary colours this season. Thanks!

Been looking for ivory / white online but don't think the traditional satiny wedding style shoes and haven't found anything else that stands out yet.

I like those charliefox - I could possibly go a bit higher though.

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 25/06/2012 22:25

these? (also darker)

same colour as 'yours' too high?

too blue?

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 25/06/2012 22:32

Oooooh perfection!

FamiliesShareGerms · 25/06/2012 22:36

High heels here

FamiliesShareGerms · 25/06/2012 22:38

Mid heels here

FamiliesShareGerms · 25/06/2012 22:42

More closed shoe style here

emsyj · 25/06/2012 22:42

I don't know of any nicer wedding shoes than these. Rachel Simpson are the best, and you could definitely wear them again. I can't pick one style, they're all gorgeous.

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 25/06/2012 22:43

Okay, of those I am preferring the Pradas (swoon indeed! Grin ) and the higher gold LK Bennett sandals. I hadn't considered gold sandals, but they could be a very good call as the dress is more 'ivory' than it looks in the pic so those warmer colours may work with it.

OP posts:
ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 25/06/2012 22:46

X post. I'd never even heard of Rachel Simpson but those are lovely.

How does someone find wedding shoes? I mean, I can't take the dress out with me can I?

OP posts:
FamiliesShareGerms · 25/06/2012 22:51

Light blue here. it is tricky to find that colour, isn't it! Alternatives include converse and hunter wellies...

I would suggest metallics though - don't want to detract from the gorgeous dress

FamiliesShareGerms · 25/06/2012 22:54

Gosh, the Prada ones are gorgeous...

FamiliesShareGerms · 25/06/2012 22:54

OP - check you can return the shoes if they are no good, bring them home and try on with the dress

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 25/06/2012 22:59

Hunters wouldn't necessarily be a bad idea. It's an outdoor wedding so unless the weather improves dramatically I may be needing wellies Grin

I like those 'different' ones Roses but think the gold sandals are winning at the moment.

Um, anyone got any thoughts on jewellry? [clueless smiley]
