What do you think of this for gym bag?

Want to invest in a good quality leather gym bag, what do you think of this?

Any suggestions otherwise? Thanks.

I like it.

I'd love a birken, but too many fakes on the street and obviously I can't spend the £10k on one.

This is a great alternative that isn't begging to be mistaken. It looks well made and big enough for your gym needs.

Thanks I do want something that will last and considered pushing the boat out ans skinning myself for a mulberry holdall.

I have always shopped budget to mid price high street but late thirties I have decided to buy things that last longer - this will the first purchase to emerge from a core wardrobe versus seasonal disposable struggle, which I still wrestling with. I seem to get so many purchases wrong. Sad

Thanks.

Well I have always been in favor of saving and only spending on the more expensive items...but I am now in my late 20's and have realized actually in the past decade all the colors I bought are all wrong.

For example my first mulberry in 2004 was a raspberry color. The bag shape and style look great, the color seems outdated and I regret saving for over a year to buy it.

I've learned to just buy classic bags in dark neutrals or exotics in metallics...cant afford them anymore now that i have to pay rent/pay for school/bills and stuff.

Originalplurker · 23/06/2012 20:21

Glitter thanks, so that hold all is classic isn't it, honestly i feel some clueless!

I'm sure the dark tan is good yes?

I recently bought a tunic dress in a large watercolour style print with large red/black poppies and that blue that's in, from monsoon, and well it just seems not right, I th gut it was great, no one has commented, my friends are the sort to comment when they see you in something for the first time and I think they've kept quiet. Anyway, should I care who am I dressing for.

This fashion business makes my head hurt.

Is leather sensible for the gym? (Am I the only one who puts my bag down in puddles/has leaky shapoo?)

Originalplurker · 23/06/2012 20:36

Big good points, think I'd be ok re puddles but shampoo hadn't thought of.

I see others at gym with nice leather bags though some are Louis vuttons and wanted one!

I don't 'get' leather for a sports bag? I'd have said something like these are surely more practical, appropriate and in-keeping.

Clearly, I like White but you get my drift!

AnnaMosity · 24/06/2012 09:37

Why not just use a sports bag fgs?

Bluebell99 · 24/06/2012 09:56

I like it but I wouldn't buy a leather bag for the gym. My current bag is a swim holdall from debenhams, prior to that an Animal rucksack but they get wrecked inside. Shampoo leaks etc.

flibbertigibbert · 24/06/2012 11:00

I agree with leather not being most suitable. My gym has quite narrow lockers so bags get scraped going in and out of them.

What about a Le Pliage tote if you want something that still looks smart but can be bashed about? It's also wipe clean so ok if your shampoo explodes all over it.

MonaLotte · 24/06/2012 19:13

I love the fossil bag, it could be used for carry on as well. I also thought about a pliage. The good thing about them is that they are waterproof.
Neither would date. If you have your heart set on leather, go for it!

I too have stopped buying £30-50 bags I kind of like and have decided to invest in more quality items. So instead of four bags I kind of like I now just buy the one bag I like which I use for much longer iykwim?

PennyHasset · 24/06/2012 20:17

I use a large Longchamp LE pilage, a classic, £70, won't get ruined if wet.

Originalplurker · 26/06/2012 06:49

Thanks all I'm off to have a wider look, think you are right re practical considerations.

Maybe get myself a nice leather fossil bag for day as I do like them and there is a sale on.

I've been using a canvas shopping tote from Asda and I've been swimming this weekend twice so def need something.

Blimey, thats a lot of money for a sports bag. I just bought a nice one for £12 and was thinking that was a bit much for a gym bag Hmm
