Help me dress my baby for a wedding

DH's sister is getting married abroad (warmer than here) next weekend and I still haven't bought an outfit for my DS. I could do with a bit of help as I just have no clue! He'll be nine months old, is at the top of the growth charts for height and weight (so is a little pudding!) and is not quite crawling. SIL has just said that she wants him to be comfortable, not to go to special effort, but I'd really like him to look lovely for her big day and photos.
Does anyone have any advice? What have others dressed their baby boys in for weddings? Any links gratefully received :)

Look at jojo - they have some lovely boys' summer things. Alternatively H&M have polo shirts in lots of great colours which can look smart, esp with a little tank top

I have always found it easier to have them wear an all in one type outfit, as if you are carrying them, their shirts go up etc. and they are more comfy in all in ones

Things like dungarees (you can get nice cotton/linen ones) or even one piece cotton rompers...

What is your budget?

Lamazeroo · 22/06/2012 15:26

Ooh budget. Hadn't thought about that. Nothing ridiculous, but I'd spend a bit for something lovely, especially if he could wear it again. Maybe £30-40ish?
I was thinking dungarees, actually.

I did have a look at Jojo but their outfits all seemed to be linen type shirts and trousers. Nothing took my fancy.

this is pretty damn gorgeous!

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 22/06/2012 15:36

lovely dungaree shorts, wouldn't put a polo under though.

Lamazeroo · 22/06/2012 15:36

Oh it is! So cute! He has loads of strawberry blond hair and big blue eyes so would look adorable in it. Thanks Procrastination, will put that on the shortlist. I hadn't considered The White Company, will take a look there now.

This is lovely www.johnlewis.com/285809/Product.aspx But I think you could potentially get something for cheaper...

This is okay www.mothercare.com/Boys-Check-Woven-Romper/LV6688,default,pd.html?cm_sp=ProductFeatures--Category%2520landing--Boys%2520Check%2520Woven%2520Romper maybe a little cool/informal?

Mamas and papas probably has nice things, muted colours etc.

JennyPiccolo · 22/06/2012 15:44

A little dungarees and shirt with a wee bow tie would be gorgeous.

ciwi · 22/06/2012 15:48

Boots have a lovely White dungaree set, it's only £16 too. www.boots.com/en/Mini-Club-Collectables-Whites-Cord-Dungaree-Set_1241048/ their collectables range is lovely but then I love boots for clothes, I think their boys wear is the nicest tbh.

UML · 22/06/2012 15:50

I would also recommend boots, I saw their clothing recently (for babies) and it was very nice. Cute dungarees. I don't think this is reflected online - the pictures are not great.

Kveta · 22/06/2012 16:35

we got DS a wee linen mix outfit for our wedding - see here very cute, he was 10 months and it fit him nicely - it was from a shop called tots and frocks IIRC.

Thanks everyone. Loads of food for thought here. I've made a shortlist which I shall peruse with DH. It's quite fun now!

I love these for boys- very practical and look smart too. Can wear waistcoat or tank top over then they're all held together so to speak!
