Fresh, light, lemon smell - any ideas for perfume please?

I rarely wear perfume, as the ones I have are "evening-y" so just use them if having a night out. Would really love something light for everyday and I like citrus smells (not floral things). In fact, I quite often prefer aftershave to women's perfumes. Does anyone have any good recommendations (not too expensive would be a bonus too!) Thanks.

I bought L'Occitane Sun Verbena today in the sales - about £26 for a big bottle. Nice and lemony.

LIttleMissTickles · 21/06/2012 16:48

Issey Miyake ?spelling

ihatethecold · 21/06/2012 17:00

Clarins is lovely and fresh. The red and the blue one's are not cloying or flowery.
I love them both and have only worn them for the past 15 yrs.

happy2bhomely · 21/06/2012 17:20

I love clarins too. The 'jardins' one is just so fresh and lovely, not flowery at all, but definitely feminine. Eau dynamisante is very masculine, but still fresh and light. Doesn't last too long though.

Roger and Gallet Citron (think that's what its called)

MangoHedgehog · 21/06/2012 17:55

Eau de Chloe, very very fresh, quite lemonadey (love it)

alemci · 21/06/2012 17:58

Eau de Lancome is a classic and very lemony. about £30 at Boots. I am thinking of buying it myself. I like citrus and floral smells.

i like the Jardins one by Clarins and so does my 16 year old and we both wear it.

Issey Miyake "L'eau d'Issey" is great.

Marks & Spencers do a version of it that smells just like it, but is a fraction of the price - called "Isis"

Or you could try Jo Malone's 'Basil, Lime and Mandarin'. It's gorgeous! I think about £25 for a small bottle?

BirdyArms · 21/06/2012 18:46

I have used Jo Malone 'Basil, Lime and Mandarin' and loved it. I'm now using Miller Harris 'Citron Citron' which is quite similar. Both really lovely and both expensive but had them as presents and last ages.

I used to use Issey Miyake for years, as did a lot of my friends, but eventually felt like a change.

Truth by Calvin Klein is very lemony and sounds like the kind of thing you are after. It isn't overtly feminine or floral either. I used to wear it all the time and had a lot of compliments on it.

puzzlepetal · 21/06/2012 19:05

Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue.

Mintyy · 21/06/2012 19:05

O de Lancome.

cahu · 21/06/2012 19:18

The original French Connection is a lovely pure lemony fragrance. It was actually created by Jo Malone mid 1990's. Is very inexpensive and the body spray is lovely too. Its not sold in Boots as some of their stuff is, just in the FC stores.

lambethlil · 21/06/2012 19:22

Eau d'Hadrien. It's expensive though and doesn't last- I saved mine, but it definitely went 'off' after a year.

PoppyWearer · 21/06/2012 19:24

Jo Malone.

The small size ones last aaaaages.

JodieHarshHasALumpyPennie · 21/06/2012 19:24

Lots of women wear Issey Miyake Homme

Eau Sauvage is also VERY citrussy

VerityClinch · 21/06/2012 19:31

Another vote for Miller Harris Citron Citron here Smile

headfairy · 21/06/2012 19:33

It's not cheap, but Jo Malone Verbena de Provence.... so lemony. It's gorgeous.

Chocchip88 · 21/06/2012 19:34

Not citrusy but appley - DKNY Be Delicious, it's a lovely light daytime perfume and not too pricey.

ChocChipWine · 21/06/2012 20:27

Chanel Cristalle Eau Verte is lovely, fresh and citrussy

DonaAna · 21/06/2012 21:40

+1 to Eau Sauvage by Dior (technically male but very often worn by women). Much classier than Jo Malone.

Or you could just pick a classic Eau de cologne: Guerlain's Eau Imperiale is very nice, and I really love Eau du Sud by Annick Goutal

londone17 · 21/06/2012 22:26

Ebay sell lemon perfumes at very cheap prices.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/06/2012 22:52

L'Occitane do a Verbena cologne which is nice
And I've got the Roget & Gallet 'Farin' which is lemon/orange

You might like Liz Earles No1 cologne. It smelled lovely and lemony on my DD, but vanished after 10 minutes on me Sad
