sun spots/ discoloured patches on my face - help!

they developed when I was pg with dd2 (now 7 ) and have never gone away...now they are getting more obvious.

They are like very large freckles bit weirdly shaped.

What should I use ? I will buy anything if it really works or have any treatment if it genuinely makes a difference!

TIA

Nothing you buy OTS will make any difference whatsoever. Need to go a bit more hardcore. I'm on prescription only gunk and it's starting to have some impact, after 6 weeks hard slog.

Not so, Charlie!

donnie - my mum developed a sun spot on the end of her nose about the size of a raisin and she tried to get rid of it for years (I'm talking about 20+) with laser surgery and OTCs but it always came back.

Clinique Dark Spot Corrector has made it disappear completely. She is now in her late 70s and couldn't be more happy. She's now using it on the age spots on her hands and it's having a similar effect. :)

I've tried Clinique DSC and it had zero effect on me. So glad it's worked for your Mum. Wish it had done the same for me, as would have been sooooo much cheaper than what I'm using now.

PorkyandBess · 18/06/2012 22:38

I too have tried Clinique and it made not one jot on difference.

PorkyandBess · 18/06/2012 22:38

of, obv.

DowagersHump · 19/06/2012 06:04

That sucks, Charlie :(

I thought it was the magic cure all but it seems not.

ripsishere · 19/06/2012 06:09

Any other ideas? I've got a patch on the right side of my face by my jaw. I don't look in the mirror often so forget about them.
I think they started when I was pregnant with DD. She is 11 now but we were in a very sunny country.
I wonder if the GP could give me anything?

danceswithfools · 19/06/2012 06:20

Hi I had this and prescription from GP sorted it in a few weeks. Good luck x

ripsishere · 19/06/2012 06:41

OK, might give them a ring later on. It just seems such a waste of time for something cosmetic.

FoxPass · 19/06/2012 09:30

I got it too when expecting DS2 :( In the last year I have tried loads of different products. I gave up and was saving for IPL until I tried rosehip oil, which I bought for anti ageing. Amazingly it is fading them! I am so chuffed! I'm using triology organic rosehip oil from Holland and Barrett.

And remember your SPF!

ripsishere · 19/06/2012 10:05

I'll see whether our local H+B has some of that oil. I can't bear the feel of creams and lotions so brought it all on myself.
