tell me good things about having very short hair

I am a week away from my appointment to have my mid-back length hair chopped into a messy pixie type do. I am having last minute jitters.

I want it done because:

All I ever do with my hair is a pony tail

I can't style my hair (I don;t know how)

If I ever wear my hair down it will not go straight or curly or wavy just a horrible combination of all three

I am wavering because:

Once it's chopped off I can't go back

I may look like a boy (I don't wear make up and don;t wear girly clothes, usually just Jeans, t-shirt and trainers

My hair is VERY unruly it's currentl just the weight of it keeping it relatively incheck therefore it's long or short (anything mid-length is an absolute nightmare I've been there before and was terribly bullied at school!)

I don't know if I am confident enough to pull off short hair.

I've had pixie cuts on and off my whole life and I love them. You don't have to blow dry, just wash, air dry, rub some wax through and go. No more hair in your face, no ponytail headache, people will be able to see your face! You'll love it.

No hair dryers...... Bliss

And, if you have good bone structure, it can be seen!

I love pixie cuts, if you have the face for them they are beautiful. Unfortunately when I tried one I looked like a potato. Just go for it, if you don't like it it will soon grow out and you can always wear hats and scarves until it does.

I think its the people seeing my face thing I'm worried about, feeling exposed. But then I keep thinking having my hair scraped back into a pony tail (no fringe) all day everyday isn't exactly hiding my face either!

I know what you mean, I hid behind a long fringe for years, I have no idea why but I couldn't imagine facing the world without it. I got rid of it about 11 years ago and have never looked back!
