Did anyone order from Beautyexpert last week when the Elemis free gift offer was on and actually get the gift?

Anyone?

Because I feel like I have been swizzed and I know at least a couple more of us didn't get what we were promised.

So if anyone did successfully get the gift please tell me - I am looking into it a little bit

Hi moaning - just realised you came onto the thread I started the other day. Still no word from beauty expert, even though I emailed them the other day asking for a response in 24 hours - after having spoken with them last week.

Is this something we can take to trading standards, do you think?

MoaningMajestyReignsAgain · 14/06/2012 22:49

I paid with Paypal, so I may speak to them.

Advertising standards authority can investigate dodgy promotions, I have dealt with them before and they are good.

I also spoke to Elemis today Smile

I have been shopping online with gusto for years and never been so pissed off TBH. All the response I had is them telling me that they have cancelled the order for the gift as it is unavailable and they will refund the price (ie nowt). Shock oh , how fucking kind, you will refund me NOTHING and cancel the order for a great gift that was the whole reason I bought from them and just expect me to be pleased? I don't even have PMT Grin

moaning have they promised anything in terms of next steps or have you reached the end of the road with them?

In my case I didn't receive the eye mask that was supposed to come with the eye cream I bought, so am doubly pissed off.

Like you, I shop online a lot (usual thing - working mum/no time) and have had issues over the years but this takes the biscuit in terms of complete non-communication/non-interest in resolving matters.

If I ever see a BeautyExpert thread on here again I will be sounding a warning claxon very loudly, advising people not to give them their hard earned ££!!!

MoaningMajestyReignsAgain · 15/06/2012 12:22

No they have not replied to my second message. I may contact ASA next, as they get figures about how many gifts were available etc, but end result would only be - 'Don't do that again' to them at best.

The other thing is for us to leave plenty of honest reviews on the review sites.

So if anyone is looking for a review of Beautyexpert.co.uk we are very dissatisfied customers, they do not reply helpfully to concerns, and I will not touch them with a bargepole in future. Trustpilot and Ciao are review sites worth looking at too. Trustpilot already has some bad reviews of beautyexpert.co.uk

Hello
I started the thread about the Elemis offer. I received an email from them last Thursday to say they had run out of free gifts. Before ordering I had actually asked on Facebook & on the phone re the availability of the free gift. I ordered online whilst still on the phone to Beauty Expert. So I was very cross to find out that the gift was unavailable. I emailed last Thursday evening & then rang up & spoke to them last Friday and asked for an alternative gift or I would return my order. They offered to send me the Elemis Eye & Lip Contour Cream (worth £53 or £23 depending on where you look!) It arrived yesterday along with lots of Dermalogica & Ole Henrikson sachets. So I was pleased with the alternative. I would advise that you ring them and ask for an alternative gift (check what it is) or that you will return your order.

Housewife glad you have got somewhere, but I (and a few others) have spoken with them and asked for some sort of resolution, but had no joy. Can you remember the name of the person you spoke to?

It particularly irks me that I am going to have to pay premium rate fees to speak to someone over the customer service number again, after having phoned them and spoken with them last week (on that premium rate line), been promised a resolution, and then having had to email them because there has been no follow-up.

Hello
I spoke to Amy. I may have dropped "trading standards" into the conversation! I hope you sort something out. Try & get them to agree to something when you're on the phone or threaten to return the goods at their expense. I was so cross after doubly checking that the offer was in stock to find that it had run out. Why announce the offer on FB if you are running low on stock? You could always mention that there is an ongoing thread on MN regarding this matter - very poor customer service.
I empathise re having to ring on premium rates to complain - I was on the phone to Laura Ashley for 35 minutes yesterday (at 10p a minute) after having a broken sofa delivered & they even don't know when the broken part will be available! - but that's a separate rant!
I hope you all get a good alternative gift - keep us posted. x

MoaningMajestyReignsAgain · 15/06/2012 23:41

I asked for an alternative gift too, but no reply as yet - I sent a message rather than rang them though. Not letting it lie yet, anyway. To tell you it is in stock when it isn't, has got to be miss-selling/misrepresenting by anyone's standards?

I can understand them making a mistake. I'm sure they probably though they had enough or could get enough supplies. I think it's the way they have handled it that is the problem. We should all have been offered an alternative gift. They can't expect to just tell us that the gift is sold out and that we will accept that - especially as we had to spend £50 to get it! I'd definitely speak to them - I didn't have to wait long on the phone & it is a lot easier to ignore an email rather than a cross person on the phone. Good luck.

MoaningMinnieWhingesAgain · 19/06/2012 15:53

They have emailed me back and promised to send me a lower value gift, some sort of cleanser. Hopefully it will arrive and I will then feel less annoyed Grin

They remain on my shit-list for now and won't be using them again though. Do they run lookfantastic too? I noticed they have the same office address/part of the same group.
