Can anyone recommend some nice clompy boots to stamp around in?

Preferably black leather, with a wedge heel, ankle boot or biker boot, nothing too ladylike?

I have been looking to recommend these to someone for a while. I have the red ones and if my pay packet is large enough, will be treating myself to the blue soon.

THEY ARE COMFY

KimaGreggsSausageRoll · 13/06/2012 15:15

Wow they are only £29?! But they're HIGH - will I be able to walk in them? Are they comfy enough to stomp around after a 4 year old in? I can't normally walk in heels at all, except wedges, as I am not at all ladylike.

I do really like those though, thanks!

Honestly, they are the most comfortable heels I've ever owned. I can walk around in them all day and still go out in the evening, I think it's because, although they're high, they have a very chunky heel and a big wedge.

Had lots of comments on them too.

KimaGreggsSausageRoll · 13/06/2012 15:21

You know what I am ordering them, it's free returns so I might as well at that price! I am so excited thank you!!

I would like more please if anyone can recommend any other boots?

have been looking at Fly boots and some look quite nice but there are so many to choose from I don't know where to start with them. If anyone has any that fit my original criteria I'd love to hear about them, thanks.

I think fly boots are renowned for letting in water do it depends if you need them to be waterproof.

yellowraincoat · 13/06/2012 15:37

I really hope you like them, I love them. In fact, I have just ordered the blue ones too even though I shouldn't but they are so chunky they'll last forever.

Update me when they arrive!

KimaGreggsSausageRoll · 13/06/2012 15:41

Ummm yes waterproof would be nice - I want to be able to wear them in the British summer Grin

Didn't know that about Fly, thanks. I'll let you know what I think when they arrive yellowraincoat, have ordered them!

Would be very grateful of any more recommendations, thanks!

I possess these They fit the waterproof and comfy brief. In fact they are one of the few shooes I could wear over the last 4 months after injuring my foot running because I am too fat to be gazell like

BikeRunSki · 13/06/2012 16:52

These DMs. I have them in 3 colours, the oldest is 7 years old and they are still going strong. They go with everything (ish...).

peachypips · 13/06/2012 20:38

Red or Dead, or Fly.

KimaGreggsSausageRoll · 13/06/2012 20:56

Argggggh just lost my reply to a MN upgrade!

Thank you slug but I'm not keen on the lacing up the back of those, and BikeRunSki I'm not sure the wedge is high enough on those DM's - not quite stompy enough for my liking.

peachypips I didn't even know RorD were still in business I used to wear some of their boots, they were sooo comfy, will have a look online. And have you had any problems with Fly not being watertight (take a look upthread)?

Thanks all Smile

Yellowraincoat those boots are lovely. Have just ordered them in red. What do you wear them with? Normally I wear flat boots, in fact I'm going to have to sort a night out, just so I can justify wearing toweing heels Smile

yellowraincoat · 14/06/2012 01:24

I wore them tonight with jeans - not really my usual style but it looked ok.

Black tights, short black skirt looks good.

KimaGreggsSausageRoll · 14/06/2012 09:16

I ordered 2 more pairs of lovely boots from KG last night as their sale prices are great and it's free returns. These and these.

I think I love you yellowraincoat Grin

Fillybuster · 14/06/2012 10:40

Trying to work out if I can justify that first pair of KGs Kima, now you've been kind enough to find them for me.

KimaGreggsSausageRoll · 14/06/2012 10:42

HTH Grin

:)

peachypips · 14/06/2012 12:25

Kima no probs with waterproof-ness!! And my Red or Dead boots are to die for- mid calf, front lace-up, chunky low wedge heel... Had a check though and can't find them anywhere even on eBay.
Off to check KG...

Itwillendinsmiles · 15/06/2012 09:50

Thank you yellowraincoat :) The boots linked to in your first post have arrived today and they're beautiful, comfortable and a bargain!

Thanks for you!

yellowraincoat · 15/06/2012 13:00

Perhaps we should all meet and parade around in our lovely matching boots

KimaGreggsSausageRoll · 15/06/2012 13:55

Hi just to say I am beyond gutted Sad that I can not walk in the boots you recommended yellowraincoat, and they also pinch my toes Sad Sad They are so gorgeous and my 4 year old DD wants to wear them Grin

The first pair I linked to in my own post t'other day are lovely and soft and comfy though, so am keeping them.

Can I still come to the parade in my new (but different) boots? Smile

How does KG sizing work? Am normally a 6.5 or 7, so should I go for the 40 or 41? Feet are slightly wide.

going to order all of the boots linked to in this thread

KimaGreggsSausageRoll · 15/06/2012 14:20

I am a size 6 so ordered size 39, came up a bit small on yellowraincoat's boots but ideal on the first ones I linked to if that's any help?

OP posts:
KimaGreggsSausageRoll · 15/06/2012 14:21

To answer your question I'd order size 41
