Please help me find a cardi / shrug <clueless>

I have bought a really nice pale lilac frock to wear to a wedding. It has slightly off-white / cream spots and I have bought these shoes to go with it, they look fine.

Problem is weather is not looking awesome and I have an absolute HORROR of getting cold.

I've resigned myself to bare legs (as opposed to thermal long johns) so NEED something to cover up with.

I am 5'11" and have a narrow back & shoulders but big boobs (32gg) so nothing tailored ever fits me.

A wrap cardigan? In cream? That will be long enough? Or a shrug? I think the dress could carry a darker purple on top. But I am failing to find anything :(

This might not be much help but there are a lot of very nice cream ish jackets in Zara at the moment that are a very Chanel type cut ie straight and no collar. I am about half an inch shorter than you and only slightly smaller chest and have tried some on and they look fine - was trying with jeans rather than a dress though. Sorry cant link but go to blazer and select colour beige - brings up 28 options.

In the past I've bought a cream bolero in monsoon to address a similar issue. It cost about £40 and had just that one outing. Some of the Zara jackets I would wear to death.

Hmm, I have to admit I have not been in Zara for a long time! I am very curvy (big boobs and bum / small waist) as well as tall and have never found anything to fit.

But I will go and have a look! Should have about an hour round the shops next week.

Do you wear the jacket sort of "open" or buttoned closed? Trying to get an idea in my head.

i think a cardigan might look better with those shoes, creamy colour. have a look in warehouse, i got a lovely cardigan in there the other day and i think they had a cream one. is your dress from dorothy perkins? think i saw it the other day.

H&M always have lovely cardis or Debenhams. Without seeing dress hard to tell if cardi appropiate for wedding or not.

Grumpla - sorry I can't really help on the shrug / wrap front. I'm a 34gg and always end up with a pashmina if its for a smart do as its so hard to find jackets etc.

This is probably not smart enough but Sainsbury have some short sleeve shrugs which tie up under the bust. They have them in purple as well as green, blue and black. I've been wearing them over maxi dresses and bravissimo strappy tops and they cover me up nicely. Had to buy a 10 though as they are very generously sized so you would prob need smaller still.

I'd love to know where you got your dress though as dresses are a nightmare for me unless I buy from Pepperberry and even then they are a bit hit and miss Sad

Yes, the dress is from Dorothy Perkins!

It is the Tall version, they did a lovely coral one but only in the standard length Sad

I bought it in an 18, it is verging on too big but as it has waist ties I can get away with cinching it in. Anything smaller would not fit over the boobs.

I quite often buy dresses in an 18 or even a 20 and then take them in at the waist (am a size 16) for this very reason. Pepper berry stuff is all waaaay too short for me!

Oh steph I LOVE that second one, looks like it would match the shoes perfectly. Might have to order that one!
