mine have looked horrific since i experimented with some cheapo ASDA nail polish. since then I've been slathering them in Sally Hansen stuff but it's not working. Any tips?

I've got on well with sweet almond oil in the past, put on nails and cuticles at bedtime.

OPI Nail Envy. It's expensive but very good.

excellent, thanks, will have a rummage for both when I'm in town next week.

Keep them very very short till they recover.

I find using one of those buffing blocks really helps whenever my nails get flaky. think it must help the circulation to the nail, plus it leaves them shiny Smile

I found the OPI nail envy made mine worse. But Mavala nail hardener seems to be working. Paint on tips every few days. Got it in boots.

ARightOldPickle · 11/06/2012 18:32

I've found Mavala to work best on my nails too. Excellent stuff, tiny bottle but only need to paint the tips.

right, shopping list reads:
almond oil
malava "stuff'
buffing block.

thanks all.

OPI nail envy made mine much worse too. Just thought I would add to the warning before you part with near on 20 quid...

Onlyaphase · 11/06/2012 19:18

I came onto this thread to warn you about OPI nail envy, but I see others have beaten me to it. If you still want to try it I'll send you my bottle if you PM me, so at least you aren't paying for flaky nails.

Am using nail envy at the moment. So far so good. How long does it take before i see results? Nail Magic destroyed 2 of my nails.
