A very light/sheer tinted foundation/moisturiser?

I do not have very good experience with foundations...

Have tried bare minerals, makes me look anaemic (and ill)

Tried laura mercier tinted foundation, made me look anaemic (and ill)

Tried the samples from liz earle, found it a bit sticky..

Any recommendations?

I am looking for something that is light and does not make your face feel sticky/icky afterwards

Maybe a tinted something?

Don't have brilliant skin, but I just want something that will take the edge off or give me a slightly better overall appearance, not looking for full coverage..

I would appreciate any help, thanks in advance!

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. Absolutely love it.

Elizabeth Arden

Dermalogica tinted moisturiser

Or, see the threads about BB creams, a BB cream sounds very much like what you're after. I like the Garnier one (comes in a normal/dry and normal/oily version) but some don't.

Estée Lauder double wear light

Thanks for all the suggestions - this is one of the reasons why I never get round to it... so many different ones out there :(

I am with you on hating ones that are too heavy or sticky or cake your face. My

My two fav's: Benefit do a tinted moisturiser great one - "You Rebel" - lovely smell.. not cheap though (something I normally get as a gift) OR one I also like is Nivea tinted moisturiser.. great everyday and reasonable price. Would recommend totally.

Bashfulblue · 08/06/2012 17:06

Bobbi Brown tinted moisturiser is also great. I hate heavy foundation and this is the only one that's ever felt natural to me.

JumpJockey · 08/06/2012 17:06

origins VitaZing is very good, it's mostly a moisturiser but has little particles of light reflecting stuff that blend in with lots of different skin tones - makes me look healthy even after a dodgy night's sleep.

I have had the exact same experience with all of the foundations/tinted moisturisers you mention. Am currently walking around looking like a chalky ghost in Bare Minerals Fairly Light.

I like Dermalogica Tinted Moisturiser in the height of summer. But have yet to find one as suitable for me as Estee Lauder Double Wear Light in no. 2. Feels light and lovely and I just apply a little with a brush and really doesn't feel that different to tinted moisturiser (but with a bit more coverage). EL give sample pots that give you a good week's worth to try first.

luckylavender · 08/06/2012 17:28

I second Nivea. As soon as I found it I ditched all the exoensive ones I had used up to then. Find Benefit You Rebel too heavy but also like Olay with a touch of No 7 and the new one from Soap and Glory.

FunnyLittleFrog · 08/06/2012 17:38

Yes to EL Double wear light - best I have tried.

Try eBay for samples. I tried a few different makes for about a fiver.

accessorizequeen · 08/06/2012 19:58

I use Bourgois 10 hour sleep which is very sheer and pale enough for me but covers the unnevenness. I don't feel sticky with it but I do use primer underneath.

ElizaDoMore · 08/06/2012 20:01

Maybelline Dream Fresh or Sanctuary BB Creams - both good IMO.

springaroundthecorner · 08/06/2012 20:46

Bobbi Brown Skin foundation. Great colours, really light and for evening you can just layer it up for a more covered look.

WelshRabbit · 08/06/2012 20:52

Haven't tried any of the ones mentioned above, but Boots No7 intelligent colour foundation is lightweight and leaves my skin feeling nice and smooth, rather than sticky.

rookiemater · 08/06/2012 22:02

Just bought the L'oreal BB cream its great feels just like moisturiser.

FiftyShadesofViper · 08/06/2012 22:03

Nivea tinted moisturiser is ace and very cheap.

Charliefox · 08/06/2012 22:05

Either a BB or the EL one that others have mentioned.

justabigdisco · 08/06/2012 22:05

Another vote for Bourjois 10 hour sleep effect - its a foundation but light coverage, gives a healthy look, non greasy (I have combination skin) and relatively cheap

GnocchiNineDoors · 08/06/2012 22:05

Came on here to suggest Nivea tinted moisturiser but see it has allready been recommended Grin

I buy it in boots / superdrug but am sure I saw some in Family Bargains t'other day which would be evn cheaper

Eliza22 · 08/06/2012 22:52

Try Estée Lauder Double Wear Light. It goes on light if you use sparingly. I love it. My skin but better..... And stays all day.
