How much do you think this little lot cost?

I am feeling very smug just having had a spree in New Look (or Mutton Look as dp calls it). Please guess how much I paid for the following:

Linen trousers
Shirt dress
V neck top
Trainers
2 necklaces
Bracelet

and a light up pen for ds who was really good in the changing rooms

A clue: there was a sale on but not everything was in the sale.

You are all meant to say, ooh, I don't know, £100? Sulking now.

Unlikely, I stopped being thin enough to shop there a few years ago....but I remember how good the prices were

Do I win a prize?

rummum · 22/02/2006 17:48

Ohhh I reckon about £70.....
and that the pen was the dearest thing.... [joke]

FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2006 17:50

Well....yes, you get the title of Top Champion New Look Clothes Spree Price Guesser. You can keep the title all week, ok?

(actually it was £51 but you were so darn close)

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2006 17:51

rummum are you saying the clothes are cheap in New Look or something???

Bloody good if you are a tight wad like me though.

OP posts:
rummum · 22/02/2006 17:51

wow.... guess where I'm going on Friday...

FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2006 17:53

It is definitely a good time to start shopping there. Even the trousers were only £15 and they were full price.

OP posts:
rummum · 22/02/2006 18:17

I like their trousers as they are generous in the length.....

FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2006 18:39

Yes but their skinny jeans are too short (for me). I have utterly failed to find skinny jeans that are long enough, anywhere. I'm not that tall, only about 5'9.

'I'm not that tall, only about 5'9.'

I'm about 5'4 That's a whole 5 inches extra!

alliebaba · 22/02/2006 18:53

me too. only boring petites for me.. apparently short people are also all skinny (only ever size 8's when I look) and they always wear suits.

FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2006 18:58

Yes but, you know, I am not freakishly tall, I would expect to be able to find something to fit me in the normal range of a chain store, no? Other trousers seem ok but jeans just not long enough. I need a 34" leg and can't find one in a nice fitting pair of jeans.

May start new thread actually.

I went into mew look today, found some lovely jeans but they were far too long, am only 5ft tall, and they don't have a petite section in the one in town..

sparklymieow · 22/02/2006 19:03

whoops New look

alliebaba · 22/02/2006 19:03

didn't know new look did petite. only know about next and principles

sparklymieow · 22/02/2006 19:04

the larger stores do,

FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2006 19:04

Sparkly I have suggested to another poster before that we get ourselves spliced to produce one normal shape person, would you like to be on the reserve list in case it doesn't work out?

OP posts:
sparklymieow · 22/02/2006 19:05

lol

kikidee · 22/02/2006 21:10

Frannyandzooey, have you tried French Connection for jeans? I'm about the same height as you and their jeans are long enough for me. I don't do skinny ones though!

FrannyandZooey · 22/02/2006 22:43

Are FC not very pricey? Also, I prefer clothes that don't have badly spelt swear words on. Just my little foible

My DDs are 5'7 and even in humungous high heels their jeans are too long. However, I am 6' and my inside leg is 34"+ - Dorothy Perkins tall range is fine for me and so is LTS who have gone very cool (they have some fab "yoga pants" atm!)
