I know it is an odd time of year to be getting one, but I am so fed up being absolutely Freezing when I am hanging about waiting for DD to come out of school (she is Last, Every day!)

North Face
or
Merrell

I've actually got both

I hate being cold and simply think that life is too short to be shivering at a Bus Stop.

I've had the North Face jacket for approx 3 yrs and in all honesty have never felt cold. I bought the Merrell in the Sales about a month ago and so haven't really worn it yet in very cold weather.

Gosh, I've been no help what so ever!!

Sorry.

lol
Nope.
How does the North Face one fit?
It looks a bit unshapely, while the Merrell seems a bit more fitted.

The North Face jkt doesn't really 'fit' in as much as it's not designed to be a fitted coat. The Merrell is definitely 'fitted' ie styled to fit nicely and has a definite shape.

To be fair, neither leave you feeling as if you're wearing a duvet with a zip and a hood but if shape is your thing then I would suggest the Merrell.

I must admit, I love the fact that neither of them are big and bulky but are still very warm and light weight.

I hate a wimpy hood - it looks like the NOrth Face has one which scrunches into the collar? or has it been removed for the photo?

SquashedSquirrel · 06/06/2012 23:16

I think it's been removed ie my jkt does have a decent hood.

I know what you mean though. I would like to think that it has been removed rather than updated with a new scrunch down hood!? That'd be awful.

twinklingfairy · 06/06/2012 23:19

Info says it's been removed.
tightens up around your face.
Hoods are always bigger on me, either cover my eyes or have to be held up by hand, brrrrr

I know what you mean fairy however it is quite practical in as much as it does tighten and therefore doesn't look big and floppy. It's also quite substantial and is therefore warm.

SquashedSquirrel · 06/06/2012 23:26

I still don't think I've been much use really, I'll put it down to the fact I'm shattered and not just crap!. I'm off to bed but if you have any questions feel free to pm.

Might be next week until DH money clears Wink so, go wear your new Merrell somewhere cold and let me know would ya WinkSmile
TBH, I really prefer the look of the more fitted merrell, but if it doesn't have a patch on the warmth of the NF, then I guess I would have to give up being vain, for the sake of some much needed warmth.
