the tan jacket is not nice - the pink is very pretty and the lace is also nice. I think the style of dress would suit the pink better

yellowraincoat · 05/06/2012 14:59

I agree with the pink one.

Dress is lovely.

IDismyname · 05/06/2012 14:59

No to the tan jacket. Like the pink one, but you may 'lose' the curves of the dress underneath.

I'd def. go for the cream lace one.

EclecticShock · 05/06/2012 15:01

Dress is nice and I like the lave jacket, very different.

daisygatsby · 05/06/2012 15:01

i know the tan jacket doesnt really go with the dress - but i just liked it so i thought id see what you said!

It would be for a wedding (i didnt want to mention that in the title!) in july, so i would (hopefully) only be wearing the jacket in church and whilst moving about incase it was too chilly to be sleeveless

EclecticShock · 05/06/2012 15:01

No to the tan...

daisygatsby · 05/06/2012 15:03

i already have a bright blue blazer from zara - do you think that would go with the dress?

OP posts:
EclecticShock · 05/06/2012 15:04

Can you link a pic, need to see the colour

daisygatsby · 05/06/2012 15:08

i think its this one little-miss-andrea.blogspot.ie/2011/09/electric-blue-v-20.html

Love the colour but prefer cream lace one for wedding with the navy dress.

daisygatsby · 05/06/2012 15:12

thanks eclectic, its probably a bit grubby for a wedding at this stage too!

Lace is nice - looks classy and weddingey. Also like the pink but not the tan

HazleNutt · 05/06/2012 17:03

lace, the pink is too shapeless for this dress. I actually like the tan, but for office, not wedding.

mathanxiety · 05/06/2012 18:48

I think any jacket would smother that lovely dress. I think you should get a wrap/shawl instead.

Or if you think you really need a jacket, a fitted bolero style might work. Here's one in cotton lace.

Jackets like the tan and bright blue are the wrong shape and also the wrong colour.
The lace jacket is the wrong style.
The pink is too floaty/light compared to the structured dress.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 05/06/2012 19:12

The lace jacket is the nicest but I don't think it goes v well with the dress. Does it have to be that dress, or are you looking for ideas?

monkeysmama · 05/06/2012 20:15

I like the dress. What colour shoes / clutch have you chosen? I think the pink jacket looks cheap (& the dress doesn't) The lace one is pretty but you'd need to try it and see what length it hit at as it could be enlarging. I have that Zara blazer too and love it.

mewkins · 05/06/2012 21:41

Have you seen the dress in real life? if it really is neoprene (ie. wetsuit fabric) it could be quite warm for a summer wedding...

MoonlightandRoses · 05/06/2012 22:27

Like the colour of the pink, but the cut of the lace.

Would you consider any of these?

ASOS pink
ASOS ivory
ASOS navy or green
blouson

daisygatsby · 06/06/2012 15:43

thanks for all the ideas since i was here last. so a slight difference of opinion from the evening posters!

mewkins - no, ive only seen it on the website. i didnt know neoprene was wetsuit fabric?? not so sure about it now.

remus - it totally doesnt have to be that dress. i was just looking on the DP website as they have tonnes of reasonably priced dresses. im a curvy size 10 , 5"3, blonde , 33 - if you have any ideas!!

GnocchiNineDoors · 06/06/2012 15:47

I'd go for the lace one, of the three origional links.

However, I also think that as it is July, a stole / pashmina would be much better. I always think the Accessorize ones are the best for price / colour / quality, such as this pink one or this white one

GnocchiNineDoors · 06/06/2012 15:48

Oh, yes Neoprene is like wet suit material which may be comfy but may also be very warm in summer. Navy is a great colour though, and you are right, DPs have lots of lovely and reasonably priced dresses, just that particular one may well be very warm.

This one may be a bit more comfortable in the warmer weather.

mathanxiety · 06/06/2012 15:56

I have a tennis outfit in 92/8 poly/elastane. Also a blouse and a wrap style skirt. It's not just for wetsuits. Very light and comfortable.

daisygatsby · 06/06/2012 15:57

gnocchi thats nice, but i am generous of bosom so prefer a vneck to a high neck. all this talk of wet suits is quite putting me off tho i must say.
