Style / shopping gurus...please help.... Long black dress...

I would really really like a long black everyday dress. I've seen them on a few people on the recent sunny days. Kind of sun dress style. But I don't really know where to look.

I would like it to have staps of some kind - vest top style not bandeau. I'm imagining it to be jersey... but the trouble is i am quite hefty around the bum / thighs..

Happy to spend up to £50ish. But would prefer around £30. Any ideas where to find?

This dress from hush is strapless but might work?

This one from next has straps

I tried on one the other day here. Scroll down about half way to see it on me. There's a link to buy it direct from M&S Outlet. It's £25. Lovely on but they didn't have my size in stock. It's jersey, I'm 5'7 so it's not overly long. Nice detail on front. Would work well with a short cardi over on a colder day.

Thanks all....still not seeing the one... I think i need a belted one so that there is something to take the eye of the bum / thigh area... Might pop into town and try some on...i like the next one but wonder if it looks a bit dressy for the school run?

I often wear a belt round a tshirt style maxi dress, it doesn't need belt hoops on to do that. Good luck with your shopping quest!
