It hasn't covered my greys at all and it was a huge palava to mix and put on etc.

Left it on for three hours with cling film over as well. Has not touched the greys. Which was the whole point of dyeing my hair. Angry

Sorry to hear that. I used it last weekend and it covered my greys -- but I'm a long time henna/ indigo user.

Do you think if I keep at it at it will cover them then? I did hear the effect is cumulative and I really want to get away from using chemical dyes if I can.

I've heard the red one works well on greys. They are a real faff to use, I agree, I stopped bothering as my hair was too dark to really take the colour.

I found that you need to put the hairdryer on your hair once you have the henna on. For at least half an hour (then have a pause, then do a bit more) but don't burn your ears.
Heat helps the colour develop I have found. I use the black henna, sometimes mixed with a bit of the brown - and tea, which also helps.
The colour fades rather than leaving a line like chemicals, and although it does cover grey, it isn't as penetrating as chemical dyes. Nor does it last as long. And it is messy, but I prefer it to chemicals at the moment, and I am trying to regenerate my hair which was getting very frizzy from covering my grey with chemical dyes. Henna does really condition your hair, which is great.
Once you have used it a time or two you will see how your hair reacts to it and get a bit more skillful around what you can make it do.
