Just got this in grey on 50% off. Can't decide if it's a good 'staple' or super dull / unflattering.
Like IO a lot - am looking for easy stylish smart / casual work wear - have a few of their tops already and they wash and wear really well.
I kept being drawn to it on the website - and now I have it I keep trying it on but am just not sure.
I am bigger then model so doesn't look like that on me - would wear with skinny jeans and maybe layer a bright top underneath.

Any opinions ? Even better does anyone have it?

TIA

I love it..not dull at all

ggirl · 02/06/2012 19:36

think that it needs good makeup and hair to lift it tho

ggirl · 02/06/2012 19:36

I am waiting for pink wrap dress that I got 50% off.

Charliefox · 02/06/2012 19:46

Love it too but then grey is my gave colour! Looks really flattering.

Pelicano · 02/06/2012 19:48

OOh will have to go against the grain, it's expensive for what it is.

I'm still waiting to wear my wrap dress that I bought last year (wish I had the pink) as I just don't even do smart casual these days.

madmomma · 02/06/2012 21:11

sorry I think it's dull and wouldn't do anything for most womens' figures.

Liveinthepresent · 02/06/2012 22:33

Ok this is just what I needed - though you are as undecided as me... Confused
I want it to be easy stylish - for £55 it's ok if it isn't a huge statement - just a reliable layerable item...
Hmm .
If in doubt send it back?

It looks like one of the coveralls you put on children when they're painting. Terrible item for the money, with not a spark of originality in the design. The orange one in particularl looks like something you'd find on a hospital ward.

madmomma · 02/06/2012 22:39

send it back op - it'll make you feel frumpy or like you have to work too hard with make up etc to feel pretty IMHO

Pelicano · 02/06/2012 22:41

Size-wise they're quite true/generous,but you have to pay to sent back normally?Seraphine or m&P better for basics.

teejwood · 02/06/2012 22:55

I quite liked the look of this but couldn't bring myself to order it even with the 50% off. Might it be cheaper in the sale? But then perhaps it would it cost you more (or the same) in postage to send this one back and then re-order in the sale?

Have you tried it with your fave jeans and a bright top underneath? If so and it still doesn't light your fire then perhaps best to send back imho...

Liveinthepresent · 02/06/2012 23:02

Ok am hearing you - if in doubt send it back and see if they will let me swap it for something more flattering at 50% Smile?
ggirl and Charlie thanks for vote of confidence! If I could twirl in front of you and get a thumbs up then I might be brave but think I have to listen to my doubt in light of other comments !

Love IO usually but this is a frumpy mistake!

dingdong3 · 02/06/2012 23:57

My friend has it in orange and it's gorgeous on her. She wears it layered over a black long sleeved top and with a belt. However, even with 50% off, I still couldn't bring myself to part with the cash.

whereismywine · 03/06/2012 09:35

A few years I came up with my own rule to solve 'do I really like it'. If I don't feel compelled to wear it within the week, in that kind of 'yes, I love this!' way, then it will probably loiter in the wardrobe unloved. It's a pretty good acid test, especially in changing rooms. If I want to wear it that night, even better Smile

whereismywine · 03/06/2012 09:36

But I actually really like that dress! It's exactly the kind of thing I'd wear to work with leggings and different tops/accessories.

whereismywine · 03/06/2012 09:47

Also, has there been a half price sale I missed? Sad

Liveinthepresent · 03/06/2012 13:14

where is my wine yes someone posted a code to get 50% off one item only - it may still work - I think it was LOYAL50 - or someone may correct me.

Thanks for your comments - - am still dithering! the more I try it on the more I like it! Just tried it on with a black polo neck ( as its winter today!) and loved it so think it would be a good layering item across seasons too.

Would definitely wear it. ( though with the words frumpy and children's coverall ringing in my ears!)
I think the indecision is increased by the need to lose a few lbs before I feel fab in anything.

None the wiser really.

If it makes you feel better I'm thinking of buying one in black, it looks like easy winter (or June) wearing Smile I'm thinking with red accessories.

Liveinthepresent · 03/06/2012 19:47

whereismywine it does make me feel better - we could start a coverall trend!
I am liking it with bright coral underneath for now. Think I am veering to keep but if it doesn't get worn in the next week I can still change my mind....
Hope you get a 50% or similar code.

BTW there is a 25% off & free delivery offer on at the mo, with code FRIEND607, when you spend over £49. Have just bought the zip pointe jacket in black (although loved the orange, but I think it's not so easy to fit with rest of wardrobe) and the black maxi skirt. So hope they are lovely! Grin

nowadoubledee · 12/06/2012 20:22

I ordered it & sent it back. The neck is odd. It looks edgy in the photos but I don't think it works in RL.
