or if you follow my theory...buy Gap jeans

Fimbo · 21/02/2006 12:45

Too small on the assumption one can loose the excess!

PrettyCandles · 21/02/2006 12:48

I'd generally go for the smaller, as they almost always stretch after wearing, but rarely shrink a whole size after washing.

I went the other way with the trousers I'm 'wearing' right now because they didn't have any smaller ones, and it was a mistake - after a day or two wear they fall off if I walk too quickly!

Dunno - none of mine fit right. They are all one way or the other. One pair of cropped Gap ones fit - they are supposed to be size 8 - I am sure they are incorrectly made.

No don't think they are mislabelled - because if they were a 10 they would be looser. Just think they are a flukey pair that actually fit me. But because they are cropped they have limited use.

I buy too big on the premise that they will shrink in the wash.

Never buy too small as it's demoralising and also means I can't eat in them.

i've just lost a stone, all size 16s hanging off, so went into gap to try on jeans in celebration at weekend. but NONE fitted (i have big tum smallish hips thin legs) not even size 18s, shop assistant gave up in despair. i back on diet

cece · 21/02/2006 13:11

I always buy mine too big and after a day or two I can take them off without undoing them.. So frustrating...

MrsBadger · 21/02/2006 15:12

Next dark denim with stretch makes all the problems go away

but my Gap cords are tight on day 1, perfect for a few days, then need a belt to keep them up. Life, eh?

oliveoil · 21/02/2006 15:18

never wear trousers that are too small, they will make you look fat.

Bozza · 21/02/2006 20:29

How long do some of you wear your trousers for? Mine always end up with sticky marks from the kids on them and so never do more than 2-3 days if I am lucky.

Until they stand up and walk off all by themselves.

No, only proper jeans jeans. Other trousers last 2-5 days, depending on how enthusiastic dd has been with her food, and on how badly they mark.
