£50 to treat myself with, what should I buy?

I'm celebrating a small achievement and have about £50 that I can spend on myself as a treat. I have quite a limited collection of clothes, mostly skinny jeans with pumps and t-shirts, so thought I'd treat myself.

I don't really go out anywhere that I need to dress up, so its everyday clothes I'd prefer. On a normal day I would usually wear something like skinny jeans with pumps a top and a nice mac style trench coat. What could I get that would be a treat and add to my collection?

I never wear heels but I do like shoes and bags, I love jewellery but not big into make up. I'm 30, 5ft5 and a size 8-10, SAHM to twin 2 year olds.

I know £50 isn't a lot to spend, but its quite a treat for me, any suggestions?

what about a casual blazer e.g. from zara
Really changes the look of jeans and t-shirts. If you could find a cheaper one, add a scarf to really glam up your everyday look

(sorry forgot to say "congratulations" on whatever you achieved!)

WWYB · 30/05/2012 22:49

I like the look of those blazers, thanks. Zara online is saying unavailable but they might have some still in store, I'll have look in town.

I don't want to say what I'm celebrating, it'll out me but thanks for the congrats!

I would get some lovely accessories to dress up your jeans and tops. I got this scarf and the weekend and LOVE it! Also have my eye on this necklace and this.
Happy shopping - enjoy your treat!

WWYB · 30/05/2012 23:02

If I got accessories I could get a few things rather than just one thing, very tempting. But having £50 to spend in one go guilt-free seems like too much of a good thing to pass up on smaller things.

What about a dress then for a different everyday look? This is a good everyday dress and would be a different look to jeans without being OTT - slightly over budget!

oooo Liberty, that is very me. I don't think I mind the extra £5 Wink

I agree that you should buy one lovely thing, then you'll always remember your celebration when you wear it - I bought myself a pair of hoops for a special birthday and have worn them every single day since. What about a pair of chunky silver hoops, or something from a local jeweller? Or a special key ring or scarf??

Or an indulgent skincare care item, like Estee Lauder Night Serum or Emma Hardie cleanser? Then you get to enjoy it for weeks!

I agree with one indulgent item like a scarf or blazer :) Zara do great blazers.

WWYB · 31/05/2012 19:43

Well, I did go to Zara but didn't think the blazers were 'me'. But I got some red jeans and a beautiful top and then (going over budget) bought some new shoes too. So ended up with a whole new outfit.

Think I might go for that dress Liberty linked to as my birthday present from DH Grin because that isn't too far off now.

Well done on new outfit - any chance of a link to the top?

Dress as a birthday gift is an excellent idea!

lilolilmanchester · 31/05/2012 22:21

well done! link to top would be great (nosey emoticon)

WWYB · 31/05/2012 22:50

I can't see the top on the website, sorry I did look before I posted but couldn't find it. Its cream coloured with a small navy print of a bird ( a bit like this print-wise but much smaller, more delicate), with a cap sleeve and a high neck. It has two darts coming down from the crew neckline down to the bust so it is nicely fitted over boobs and then darts below boobs so gives a good waistline rather than being baggy, fits like a dream. Looked amazing with my dark skinny jeans. Was very pleased with my find and only £25!

Think these are the jeans www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product/uk/en/zara-S2012/189518/629875/COLOURED%2BTWILL%2BTROUSERS but the site says coral red but mine are more letterbox red so not sure they are the exact ones, same price though with the turn up at the bottom, they are more skinny fit on me though. Might just be my fat legs though Blush

All looks lovely. Zara never has everything on website and I rarely get a chance to actually go to a zara shop.
