Hoping the wise ones of MN can help...you always seem to come up trumps when searching for suitable dresses on other threads, so asking for help here!

My 2 sisters and I are acting as bridesmaids for our mum in August (12 weeks away) and we are desperate to find some dresses.
We are aged 24, 26 & 28, and size 10-12, 10-12 and 16 with enormous boobs respectively.
unfortunately all 3 of us have love handle/larger tummy issues so looking for something that is flattering round the middle. (although will all probably be wearing tummy control pants or similar Grin)

Colour scheme for the day is ivory/gold/champagne kind of colours.
Mums dress is champagne with gold embroidery, so we thought that us wearing gold dresses might compliment that, but flexible on colour as long as it ties in (mum keeps suggesting dresses in coral or turquoise which look a bit random when those colours don't feature anywhere else in the wedding)

I saw THIS ONE FROM DEBENHAMS and thought that would be ideal, nice and comfy being jersey, the twist detail hides the tummy area quite well, not too formal etc. It looked nice on me and I'm sure would on fellow size 10-12 but size 16 sis would not even try it on, both her and mum said it would look awful from the back with back fat (true but not too many pics from the back hopefully!)

So...here is the ideal criteria (pretty flexible)

Would all like to wear same dress, but willing to wear different style dress in same colour if one style does not suit all.
Ideally we would like knee length dresses, not long maxi style, but willing to change if we found the right dress
Less than £100 per dress
Ideally not strapless
Ivory/cream/gold/champagne colours would be good
Not too formal style - high street party type dress would be ideal

so...hope someone can help!
I feel like I've searched everywhere and found nothing suitable.
HELP!
Thanks

cream

gold not sure about the shoulder detailing

both reasonably like the debenhams dress but TBH I think they're a bit old for you all.

scotsgirl23 · 30/05/2012 18:29

Hard to tell colour but skirt might be tummy friendly

not as clingy

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 30/05/2012 18:37

asos again

Mombojombo · 30/05/2012 20:04

Have a look at This - don't know what they cost, but might be able to suit your budget?

Mombojombo · 30/05/2012 20:05

Ah crap - just seen they're muchos wonga. Sorry!

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 30/05/2012 20:22

They're wonderful though aren't they! BHS do a version (which actually looks really rather nice) but not in any of the neutrals that you're after.

I wonder if you'd consider a dress in this style. Her dresses are structured and boned - they give an amazing shape. Her petticoats are way too expensive though and obviously the belt in the photo wouldn't be right, luckily they (and the corsages) aren't part of the dress though.

TBH I'm with your mum on adding a proper colour to her colour scheme, just a selection of neutrals and gold could end up like a failed attempted at a gold and cream theme...

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 30/05/2012 20:32

Here's an actual person in one of the VivH dresses - She must be, what? An 18? Makes her waist look tiny.
It's a different model to the one I liked before but the same structuring (TBH I prefer this dress to the other but I don't think it's in gold).

Thanks everyone - some good options here!
Will show my sisters this thread and see if theres any they like
I particularly love those ones that you can wear all different ways - think they would be ideal. They are way over budget but the BHS ones are good alternatives.
Hmmm do we think we should go for a bold colour then rather than the neutrals?
My mum has basically given us free reign to choose something we all like and feel comfortable in - I don't think she's fussy on the colour scheme.

I would go for a bold colour and link in the gold / neuts with accessories, flowers, shoes, hair etc. Other wise I think everything is going to get blandish. Plus a coloured backdrop with acentuate you DM in her dress.

Something like Dark red would work well etc.

mummyinspain · 31/05/2012 09:30

Loving the wrap dresses. Everyone can have the same colour, style etc but a slightly different design.COOL
