Can anyone recommend somewhere that mends cheap jewellery?

I have a bangle that I love - it's in 2 halves and was held together by elastic, but that's totally snapped.

It wasn't worth that much ( it's from Nine West about 5 years ago!) but I used to wear it loads and really want it fixed.

Has anyone used a service that mends costume jewellery? I'm in London but could send it in the post. Seems most jewellers only mend proper stuff!

I have a cheapie H&M handbag that I adore. The colour, the style, the size. But, as it is £10 worth of vinyl, eventually (pretty quickly actually) it died. It would be hopeless to fix it, the materials are too cheap to work with, and it would just continue to fall apart. So my plan is, when I have enough cash to fritter away, to approach a leather craft person (many on etsy/local fashion college/local craft classes) and commission a proper leather copy of piece of tat bag. It will last forever.

Can you do something similar with the bangle? There are lots of jewellers in Birmingham Jewellery Quarter offering themselves for commission work. It isn't as expensive as you might think.

That's not a bad idea Midoriway - I've had a look at similar ones online and the only one I can see is by Marc Jacobs, lovely but not a cheap option!
