Shall I get heated jumbo rollers? (my BBh has blown up) Plus how to use them.

Am looking at some heated ceramic rollers, or shall I get some normal non heated velcro ones?

Plus, what do you do? Do you half dry your hair, or put the rollers in when wet? Plus do you use any product (I use mousse at the moment).

Will I look like I have been to a village hairdresser's to get a shampoo and set?

Or shall I just buy another Big Hair?

How long have you had your BBH? Babyliss have a 3yr guarantee on them, when mine stopped working I emailed their customer services dept and they told me to send it back for a repair or they'd replace if it couldn't be fixed. They asked for a receipt but I didn't have one as it was a gift so they wanted the serial number to prove how old it was. Simples Grin

the new on argos babyliss ones arent much more tbh
i oculdnt do every day ( aware am speaking to a daily sheet washser though)

get0rfm0iland · 28/05/2012 11:58

Grin at daily sheets.

I am a daily hair washer as well, however since BBH died am actually going out with unwashed hair (washed hair yesterday, just backcombed and batiste this morning and pinned it up). Bloody typical - have had more copmpliments with what I consider godawful spinster of the parish hair than if I had spent 20 minutes drying it Grin)

I bought some rollers off ebay - I can't get the buggers to stay in my hair, and there wasn't enough of one size to either have straight or curly hair.

I wash my hair daily too. I dry it all, Put in 3 massive rollers (just the cheapy velcro ones but I heat them with the hairdryer first), going backwards along the top of my head. Spray with elnett, gag at the smell, go and make kids lunches, get dressed yada yada, 30 mins later gently unroll them, finger brush hair into dazzling display of tousled temptress? and elnett again.

Voilá! Got mine from Poundland I think

Fourlegged · 28/05/2012 20:21

Hmm mine still stay flat...

ggirl · 02/06/2012 13:17

i bought some babyliss ones and tried them..hello hyacinth !!!

dd was pissing herself, she tried it and looked like american talk show host

I have the Babyliss heated rollers. I am able to achieve a pleasing hairstyle with them.

They are the only hair device I have ever been able to use. I have failed with Babyliss big hair, tongs, straighteners and, most recently, with velcro sleep in rollers. The velcro rollers led to a hairstyle that can only be described as 'banshee.'

Heated rollers are completely straightforward. Wash hair, dry hair, put in heated rollers in haphazard fashion with no products, do something else for 20-30 mins, take them out when they have cooled down. I then have curls at the bottom of my hair and body in the rest. I do not look like Hyacinth Bouquet because my hair is a bit longer than shoulder length. I suspect they may be more difficult to use if you have shorter hair.
