Navy maxi dress - any recommendations?

I'm looking for a simple navy maxi dress and came across this
www.net-a-porter.com/product/195214

Which is lovely, if a little ££

Has anyone come across anything similar? It doesn't have to be strapless, just needs to be nice and long as I'm 5ft 9.

Thanks

I saw this in Monsoon today. It looked lovely close up - unfortunately I'm too short for it. Smile

The monsoon one is lovely, but I'm looking for a day/casual dress - sorry should have said!

Dorothy Perkins?

I have the DP navy dress and it is fab. In fact I'm going to order it in khaki or maybe the raspberry too. I've had loads of compliments when wearing it as it hangs really well + it is dead comfy too.

Have a look for some online discount codes.

The White Company ( Sorry cannot link atm) navy one is a wrap over style rather than strapless but is a lovely colour.

M&S autograph collection has a lovely navy with fine white pinstripe - stretchy jersey top half, then pleated from waist down with nice long thin brown belt. I am 5'7" and it's down to the floor, but maybe a but ankle swishy if you add 2" to that.

Can't do links on phone but tall girls jersey short sleeve maxi, jersey tube dress or 3/4 sleeve maxi

FashionEaster · 26/05/2012 23:51

lots here if link works

Gosh that links good. May have just bookmarked a green maxi skirt or two

suntodayplease · 27/05/2012 06:19

Great links, thanks! Had forgotten about shopstyle! Found quite a few on there that I liked, some more £££ than the original dress I linked to!

If you can afford it, I'd get the Splendid. I've had mine for about two years and love it. Washes well, easy to pack for holidays and can be dressed up and down. So price per wear definitely good value.

trumpton · 27/05/2012 09:26

I bought THIS ONE last year its a lovely fabric and good value at £49 in the sale.

suntodayplease · 27/05/2012 09:57

Good to hear votes for the spendid maxi Choogirl, out of interest how does the sizing come up?

OP posts:
CHOOGIRL · 27/05/2012 13:27

I'd say quite generous. I've got medium and am size 12 with boobs.

Oooh I just saw a lovely French Connection one - I'll see if I can find it again...

This one.

oasisinthedesert · 27/05/2012 16:43

Bought one in mango today but can't do links. brown belt twisty straps I love it. very long for me and i'm 5'7 so should be good for you didn't buy in uk but think it's about GBP 40 ish

suntodayplease · 30/05/2012 07:49

Ended up buying this one...

www.thewhitecompany.com/clothing/dresses/knot-front-jersey-maxi-dress--navy/

Did love the Spendid one, but then had a reality check - toddler and strapless day dress may not have been such a good idea!

Bought a couple of other bits in WC too, I could live in that shop!

That's a lovely dress - I like the crossover at the front.

suntodayplease · 30/05/2012 07:55

Thanks, it's v flattering. Doesn't give the 6 months gone look either which is always a risk with empire lines! Got 20% off so quite a bargain too
