Children's suncream recommendations please

I bought Nivea children's suncreams for DD1 (4) and the baby version for DD2 (10 months) and they've both come out in rashes which aren't heat rash. I'm going to buy them new ones so any suggestions would be really helpful. Both DDs do get eczema sometimes.

P20 is great - I use it myself all the time but you only need to get a tiny bit in a graze/your eye/ your mouth to realise it is seriously harsh stuff!

SaraBellumHertz · 26/05/2012 13:36

I live somewhere very hot and totally recommend the ultrasun clear mist in factor 50. It is brilliant - they never burn and there is not application - literally just spray and go and never had any rashes/reactions even when small.

Boots soltan has brought DS out in a rash so watching with interest

Sunflower6 · 26/05/2012 14:15

I have just bought the boots soltan kids once 8 hour factor 50 sun cream. It is hypoallergenic and is half price at boots at the moment.

Aftereightsaremine · 26/05/2012 14:55

P20 we slather it on in the morning tho do reapply in the afternoons (but not as much) if very hot. We have never burnt & both dcs have eczema.
Still trying to persuade dh to use it but he is strictly a Nivea man!

DoodleAlley · 26/05/2012 23:37

sunflower that's the one DS has reacted to! Hypoallergenic too. He appears to be over sensitive

must get that one from his father

FashionEaster · 26/05/2012 23:43

My dcs react to most suncream, even the hypoallergenic.

If you can get hold of it, I recommend E45 suncream - my eczema prone dcs skin was soothed by it, rather than irritated - but haven't seen any for a while.

I bought Aveeno suncream today from Savers for £2.99 after a MN recommendation.

Used Proderm last year, also very good. BananaBoat kids also has good reviews.

TeaOneSugar · 27/05/2012 06:42

Boots soltan kids once 8 hour factor 50 sun cream, it's more expensive, but most days you only need to apply it once so a tube lasts longer, great for school.

Heartbeep · 27/05/2012 07:06

Ultrasun for us too. DD has so far reacted to Nivea, Garnier & Boots own.

ThoughtBen10WasBadPokemonOMG · 27/05/2012 07:13

I've just bought Sudocrem Sunscreen mousse SPF50. DS has ASD and can't tolerate the texture of most of them. He tolerated this and no burning all day. It has "proderm technology" so like the mousse a couple of others linked to. It is £££ but I was desperate and it had a better star rating than Proderm.

SoupDragon · 27/05/2012 07:21

Soltan Once. Absolutely fabulous - we've used it man times in Antigua and no burnt children. DS2 reacts to Nivea but not to this one.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/05/2012 08:41

I've always used Asdas sunscreens and havent burnt with any of them.

TK Maxx do posh sunscreen for kids really cheaply.

chipstick10 · 27/05/2012 08:47

Ultrasun for us.

seabuckthorn · 27/05/2012 11:37

Another vote for Green People.
Really good for sensitive skin.
