Help, cankle alert - what to wear and how to cope

It's that time of year again, and I was hoping for some tips and advice on how to deal with unshapley ankles (and knees). I wish my legs had definition but they don't, so how can I make the best of them?

I cover mine in maxi dresses mostly, that way you can still keep cool & look summery without any cankle exposure!

It's crap isn't it. I'm a size 10/12 but really have terrible cankles. I blame twisting my ankles multiple times as a teenage runner. I think it makes me look chunky whenever they're out.

Apart from heels, to lengthen the leg, or cover up, I'm just trying to accept. I've even bought a pair of ankle grazer 7/8th trews. I'll advised, but damnit, I'll never have better legs!

chunky shoes eg hasbeens style
could try fitflops as chunky + might help (does nothing for mine Grin)
also drink lots of water to avoid water retention which makes the cankles worse. I find short shorts are better than medium length at detracting from them drawing attention to flabby thighs instead

I like to wear maxi dresses too and have recently started wearing straight leg jeans - great with a pair of flat sandles. I also find that painting my toe nails improves the area, but I'm worried about looking frumpy and giving up on showing my legs at 30!

Would this kind of thing disguise them?

I'm not sure about sandles with thick ankle straps - thought they might draw attention to the area, but definitely worth a try. Thank you.
