What do I wear with a wrap dress?

Please help me.
I've recently been given an M&S wrap dress, black, three quarter length sleeves, sits just below my knees
First remotely feminine thing I've so much as tried on since having DS almost 3 years ago and I love it. Love how it looks, love how I feel in it ( love the effect on my husband!)
But so far I've only worn it in the house because I have no idea what to wear with it - shoes, coat, accessories? Totally clueless! And as I love it so much I want to get same style but different colour. Then what? Shoes same colour as dress?
Oh, I need help, I'm so rubbish I don't know where to start and I'm too embarrassed to ask friends in RL!

Well, I have a few wrap dresses for work and depending on time of year, will wear with boots and tights or bare legs and wedge sandals. Flats don't really work but a mid-heel seems better than big high ones. For work I often put a lacy vest underneath as otherwise I have major cleavage, but not if I was wearing out of work.
Wrap cardis are good on top if necessary too, and don't forget some lovely jewellery Smile

Thanks for that.
Hadn't thought of wedge sandals as never worn them before. Will look when I go to town today.
So black dress I guess black shoes or something bright to go with Jewellery and/or cardigan?
What about if I get the gorgeous purple dress I've got my eye on?
Sorry for dopey questions but I'm clueless and really want to start looking a bit more put together rather than thrown together and dragged through a hedge at high speed!
