Dress Needed- Wedding in Bangkok

Help me please!

I am clueless and need a bit of 'direction' in choosing a dress to wear to my brother's wedding in November. It's in Bangkok, and is a traditional Thai wedding (SIL to be is Thai), although as guests I don't think we're expected to wear anything other than typical "wedding guest" attire.

I'm about 5''2, and a size 12. I have a very boyish frame, no bust (just about an a-cup), no obvious waist, but quite chunky thighs. I have quite nice legs from the knee down though! Fairly olivey skin tone (when I've been exposed to sunlight for a few days!), green eyes and mousey brown bobbed hair.

I want to look special, as everybody else will be beautifully Thai, and tiny! Has anyone seen anything stunning? I want to buy it in the summer season here, so that I can wear it in the heat out there. I usually buy monsoon dresses for weddings, and end up clashing with the half the other guests! (although I suppose that's unlikely if the wedding is overseas!)

Any advice appreciated.

I should add...budget around about £100.

100 inc. shoes and bag, or just for the dress?

This pretty stunning and a real bargain. It'd bring out the colour in you eyes too. Considering the cut and your shape the s should surely fit?

Just £100 for the dress...

That is gorgeous LL, colour and fabric!

Should have mentioned that I have a bit of a post baby belly still knocking about, but a good pair of spanx should sort that out! (bit worried that a small may be too small though, and they don't have a lot of sizes left)...

I think it really might - the top is the only possible risk area, it'd be worth trying if the would accept it being returned. Their sizing says an S is to fit at 37 inches round the bust which isn't that small, and you look at the deep cut of the sleeves I really think it'd work.

If it did fit I think it'd be really flattering on your boyish figure. Maybe with these (considering the price of the dress) and maybe a raspberry-ish bag?

But, anyway, I'll have a root about for some alternatives.

Have you seen this site? www.getcutie.co.uk/dresses/index.html

I've been coveting one of their dresses for ages! Friends of mine are getting married in the Autumn and so I think the time has come!

I love the unusual prints and a friend has a cap sleeved dress and says the fit is amazing!

Hi

No inspiring links but my brother married his Thai girlfriend last year in Bangkok. Although brides mum and dad wore traditional Thai clothes the rest of us were in usual wedding stuff. I did need 2 outfits though as they had an afternoon ceremony ( knee length dress etc) and then an evening do where it was expected that we would change and wear long dresses. Air con meant we could wear sleeves etc.

Hope you have a brilliant time.

vaguely similar, pink. Zara also have the most delicious pink shoes ever ATM. Here They wouldn't work with the pink dress but they'd be knockout with the grey one.

Thanks for that Bahamamomma, I probably need to enquire about the number of 'sessions' (!), and see if that means I can indulge in another dress!

LL I love the getcutie website... especially this style square neckline which I have always found flattered the none existent boobs... May need to chose an alternative fabric then the cowboy print!

The heels are gorgeous, but just too high for me, and I know I would probably break a leg!
