I saw a little boy with The Coolest striped leggings on. They looked sort of knitted (no doubt out of yoghurt or lentils)

They were in shades of orange and green

I've searched etsy, folksy and lots of websites but nada

Do I need to go on a pilgrimage to Glastonbury? (only half joking, it's not that far away :)

If you look on ebay - search baby leggings. They do heaps of different ones and they are very cheap. here are some. They wash well, tumble dry and last ages!

RillaBlythe · 20/05/2012 08:01

Green baby?
Little green radical?

Can't link as on phone but look on eBay for toddler leggings, were they those ones with pictures on the bum?

RillaBlythe · 20/05/2012 08:02

Blueberryboy got there first!

Fuchzia · 20/05/2012 08:05

Bishopstone trading in Bristol. That's where my mum buys stuff for my DS and she is 100% certified hippy.

LivingInASieve · 20/05/2012 08:08

Babylegs? They are not leggings though, they are woolly legwarmers so easier for nappy changes.

RighteousDude · 20/05/2012 08:13

Are you real hippies? Hmm

They weren't like those animal bum ones, they were sorta more organic looking

Perhaps a trip to Bristol then, is that shop on park street?

But thanks

Theyre on eBay, try heaps of searches eg hippy pants etc. I'm in aust.

RighteousDude · 20/05/2012 08:32

There are lots of striped leggings on eBay

But these were kind of woolier looking. A bit handmade

OP posts:
ninah · 20/05/2012 08:37

maybe they are handmade then, can't be too hard? (optimistic)

RillaBlythe · 20/05/2012 10:14

There are loads of patterns for knitting leggings (called longies). You can buy them too. Can't link but google 'wool longies' & you will find patterns/some for sale (handknitted). It's a cloth nappy thing.

RighteousDude · 20/05/2012 10:42

Longies are the very thing!

Thank you so much :)

They may have been longer soakers. Look on folksy and notonthehighstreet. Or make your own/ get a mate to/ ask your mumBlush

bronze · 20/05/2012 10:44

I wrote longie but it doesn't matter I types too slow anyway Grin

RighteousDude · 20/05/2012 11:39

Wow they're expensive

I thought hippies were poor. Perhaps they really do weave lentils to get their babies snazzy leggings

I can't knit

My mother can't knit

I doubt any of my mates can knit

RillaBlythe · 20/05/2012 17:04

Oops.

Have a look for second hand - clothnappytree has them.

EssentialFattyAcid · 20/05/2012 17:05

go to festivals and buy if you must but real hippies tie die their own
Start with second hand stuff then die it Smile

nappyaddict · 14/06/2012 19:16

What age is it for? I might have some old ones of DS' if you mean this sort of thing

Righteousdude · 14/06/2012 19:31

Yes nappyaddict, that's Very like the thing. Especially the £38 ones Hmm show me a page of 1000 things and I'll pick the most expensive

I'd be very interested if you've some in around about 10 months onwards. She is 10 months but is The Biggest Baby Ever and is mostly in 12 month clothes

Would you pm me of you did, I'll pay good money (but not £38) Or indeed in true hippy fashion home grown vegetables and eggs

(v excited at thought of pm never mind genuine, properly hippily revycled legging things ) Grin

AdventuresWithVoles · 14/06/2012 20:03

Frugi.

CornishKK · 14/06/2012 20:17

How about these, fleece rather than wool but very reasonable prices - MamaMoomy

Sticklepink · 05/07/2012 21:40

Hi I found a baby outfit which looks like a biker outfit but is flexible and soft and a rock punk style outfit from www.blessingindisguiseclothing.co.uk so I would suggest looking there as they might have something hippie style or contact them they are helpful.

BertieBotts · 05/07/2012 21:51

I know a few hippy type people who genuinely do make them, and they tend to have likeminded friends so there are always crafty clothes being swapped around as children grow into or out of things.

AuntPepita · 05/07/2012 21:56

Oh oh I can't believe I am the first one to say susu mama
