What do you think?
I'm having a bit of a panic after DP made a Hmm face and said no one wears watches anymore Confused
but I'm always running late for preschool etc,I'm about to start a new job,i always forget my mobile or am forging about for it in my bag for the time.
I've been pondering a watch for a while and ive finally found one I like...

Anyhoo, here it is what do you lot reckon?

It's £75! Thought is was going to be a couple of thousand! It's fine. Buy it if you like it and can afford it.

toofattorun · 19/05/2012 22:04

Really lovely. To be honest, when I saw it (purposely didn't look at the price so I could take a guess) I thought it was about gbp120. So bargain!
It's not too girly but its sophisticated. Bought a cool fossil purse this week that would match that perfectly!

crazyspaniel · 19/05/2012 22:05

I don't think that's a lot of money to spend on a watch at all. And everyone I know still wears a watch.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 19/05/2012 22:06

Very nice!

ladyinthelibrary · 19/05/2012 22:06

That's beautiful (but also says it's out of stock?).

I have just started wearing a watch again - a Skagen one. I got mine off ebay, a discontinued model I think for about £40, but had also got one off QVC for £125 (returned that one) - so no, I think you should go for it!

dexter73 · 19/05/2012 22:08

I mean that before I clicked on the link I thought you were going to be buying an expensive watch like an omega or a Rolex. I didn't think a fossil watch would cost a couple of thousand!

Pinner35 · 19/05/2012 22:10

Buy it! I wear a watch, but mine was £6 from a charity shop. Like you, I got sick of rooting in my bag for the phone, just to check the time.

Plain , simple , not flashy and tells the time .
What's the problem ?

PorkyandBess · 19/05/2012 22:12

It's only £75! That is really not a lot to spend!

SlinkyB · 19/05/2012 22:13

Get it, it's lovely! I had a new watch for my birthday last year which was expensive (for me) but don't regret it.

Hulababy · 19/05/2012 22:16

£75 is fine.

I don't wear a watch uch but I never had; I buy them and then never wear them, much to DH's frustration. I ended up losing a Gucci one that cost me over £300 - oops!

DH is looking at watches at the moment as wants a new one for his 40th next year - they are a few thousand. His current one cost a couple of thousand and is in perfect working order, but he wants another one. DH never goes a dat without wearing his.

MoonlightandRoses · 19/05/2012 22:17

Definitely buy it - it's pretty inexpensive anyway (and a v. nice design), but particularly if you consider how much you can spend on a watch (try researching Franck Muller or Harry Winston).

Mind you, I'm biased, not only do I wear a watch every day, I have a 'dress watch' for smart evenings out too.

Yeahthatsnotgonnahappen · 19/05/2012 22:20

That's not expensive at all. I also thought you were going to link a watch that was a grand.

Have also bookmarked it myself as I thinks it's lovely and might indulge myself at the end of the month

FizzyLaces · 19/05/2012 22:23

I love that watch. Swap ya for my Citizen Eco Drive? Grin It tells you the date...

FriggFRIGG · 19/05/2012 22:46
Grin oh goody,it seems the watch I adore is also cheap! And has passed the s&b check!

Hooray!

MoonlightandRoses · 19/05/2012 22:56

Not cheap - inexpensive! Grin

FriggFRIGG · 19/05/2012 22:57

Ah,yes,sorry.... Grin

JesusWept · 19/05/2012 22:57

God, I thought you were going to say £5000.

Nice watch btw.

FriggFRIGG · 19/05/2012 23:00

Ahh!!
I just bought it Grin

RubyRubyRuby thankyou for that link,'twas cheaper, they take PayPal,and it's free next day delivery Smile

Thanks all,I am now content in the knowledge that you all approve, and it's a totally sensible amount of money to spend Wink

OP posts:
BackforGood · 19/05/2012 23:01

I too assumed you were going to link to something costing a couple of grand Grin
Is it just psychological so we all come on and say "that's cheap"? Grin

Like most things, if you've got the money, then go for it. If £75 means there's no food on the table next week, then possible it is a bit much to spend.

ninah · 19/05/2012 23:02

you paid HOW MUCH????? Grin

FriggFRIGG · 19/05/2012 23:05

It's just my PayPal balance, which doesn't affect our outgoings at all, just money I've made from selling etc...normaly I spend it on sensible things, like the DC shoes clothes etc,but they don't need anything, none of us needs anything....and I start my new job next week so our income is going up! Grin

I'm so exited! Grin
