What to wear to this particular funeral :(

I am going to a funeral on Thursday, and I am not sure what to wear. All the other funerals I have been to were for those who were elderly and they were very traditional. However, this one is for a younger lady who unfortunately passed away after having cancer. She was only in her late 40's and has 2 young children.

I feel I can't wear all black, but I'm not sure if wearing a little colour would be disrespectful. Has anyone got any advice?

Can you ask the family what they feel would be appropriate/inappropriate?

Unless the family has specified colourful clothing to be worn at the funeral, I'd stick to black. Could you ask them?

My uncle said he did NOT want black worn to his

So I wore a bright pink scarf/wrap

I love the idea of wearing colour. I wouldn't want anyone to wear just black to my funeral. I want as much colour as possible.

I will definately get mum to ask. It is her sister-in-laws funeral so I'll get her to ask her brother.

Hope you can wear colour.The only person in black at my girlfriends funeral was her GP!
